Update on Christy Hemme

For those interested, the spot in last night's women's gauntlet wherein Awesome Kong tried to break Christy Hemme in half and after which they removed Christy from the ring was a work to get Kong over.

Kong is over with me at least so in that way it worked. I demand Kong Vs. Samoa Joe.

People must really have wanted to know what happened at Bound for Glory

It seems that after last night's event, TNA's website was hit with a flood of traffic and the site was subsequently knocked offline and has yet to be put back online.

I can also confirm a spike in traffic on our own site that started last night with the introduction of Rasheed Lucius "Consequences" Creed and has continued in to today.

The glass is half full and half empty for TNA in this case. Good news, people cared enough to try and find out what happened last night in high numbers. Bad news, they did not care enough to order the show.

But hell, if the rating for iMPACT this week is up by 3 or 4 people then they'll call it good.

Championship Rematch to be taped this week, plus Bound for Glory dark results

Sting Vs. Kurt Angle in a title rematch will be taped either monday or Tuesday for iMPACT.

In Dark matches before the show, The Motor City Machineguns defeated Joey Matthews and Johnny Swinger and Ms. Brooks beat a local DJ in like 20 seconds.

TNA Wrestling's 'Bound for Glory 2007' Live Coverage

Welcome to Combat-Hooligans.com's live coverage of TNA Wrestling's biggest show of the year, or so they say. We've got gauntlets, reverse battle royals, Ultimate X matches, Monster's Ball, matches with Enforcers, Tables matches and matches with title belts on the line.

The coverage starts at 8:00 PM ET tonight at which point you can refresh your browser for the latest and greatest.

Preshow note, I may not be as verbose as usual, exhaustion is setting in. Some of you would argue that less of me is better, so tonight, you win.

According to the video package, guys have stuff they want to prove tonight. Fun!

1. Ultimate X: Triple X Vs. Latin American Xchange
   Winners of this match become top contenders to the tag team championship.
   
   A super-hot crowd tonight.
   
   Hella-good match that inspires chants of "this is awesome" for a Skipper dive of the X-structure and "Holy Shit" for a neckbreaker spot also by the structure with Homicide and Senshi. Finish sees Hernandez bordertoss Elix to the floor on to Senshi and LAX grab the prize for the win.
   
   Winners: LAX
   
   Earlier today, Kurt and Karen Angle arrive separately and Kevin Nash is also in the house.
   
   West and Tenay run down the card.
   
   Crystal AKA Random interviewer girl #2 interviews Christian Cage.
   
   Ok, 16 guys start out on the floor. First 8 in the ring then have a regular battle royal. Last 2 wrestle to a pinfall for the finish. Sound complicated? Yeah!
   
   
2. Fight for the Right Reverse Battle Royal:
   Ok, so in edition to what I just said, the 8 wrestlers will be in a tournament to be held on iMPACT and the point of this battle royal is to determine seeding. We get down to the final 8 pretty quick which means the outside portion was quick. James Storm was the last man to make it to the ring, and then was the first man tossed out. So Storm is seeded 8th and will face the winner of this match in the first round of the tournament. Fatu out next so is seeded 7th. Chris Sabin is out third so is seeded 6th. Kaz is 5th, Hoyt is 4th and Shelley is third. Now it is down to Roode Vs. Young to see who the top seed is.
   
   
   Young hits a small package and wins this thing.
   
   The matchups to take place on iMPACT:
   
   #1 Eric Young Vs. #8 James Storm

   Winner: Eric Young
   Not as bad as the first, and really the match was fine once they got in the ring which was fairly quick in the process. Why you need to be so complicated to seed guys for a tournament I'll never know. I suggest though that UFC borrow this concept to crown a new UFC Heavyweight Champion.
   
   Team Pacman cut a promo, a new member is debuting or something. His name is Consequences Creed. Pacman cut the best promo of his life. Then Kurt and Karen Angle are fighting.
   
   
3. TNA World Tag Team Championship Match: AJ Styles & Tomko Vs. Team Pacman
   The new guy's name is Rasheed Lucius "Consequences" Creed, it must suck to sign his check. I see we are getting a lot of visiters wanting info on this man. I'll say this much, I don't know who the guy was but he looked acrobatic in the match. Meltzer wrote that TNA wanted Scorpio for the role but it most definitely was not Scorpio.
   
   A fun match with a make-it-rain spot with Pacman making it rain and instead of counting the resulting pin attempt, Earl Hebner is too busy picking up the money. Yeah, that's not tasteless or anything, got to love the family friendly company! A double team move that I guess Tomko and Giant Bernard use in NJPW wins the belts for Styles and Tomko
   
   Winners: AJ Styles and Tomko
   Styles and Tomko are set to meet LAX at some point in the future.
   The match was ok, crowd was in to it because of the Pacman and AJ Styles ties to the area.
   
   Karen Angle is talking with Nash. She drops hints about Nash returning to the ring. The gist of it was that she threatens Nash, to get him to talk to Sting or else she and Nash might both lose their meal ticket if Kurt loses the belt.
   
   A Christopher Daniels Vs. Jay Lethal video package airs.
   
   
4. TNA X-Division Championship: Christopher Daniels Vs. Jay Lethal
   good match, crowd was in to it and Lethal retained the title. He missed the big elbow after kicking out of the BME and fighting off the last rights. He hit his Rock Bottom/Back breaker thing for the win.
   
   Winner: Jay Lethal
   
   Random interviewer #2 is with the steiners. It would seem that Scott Steiner is a fan of caffeine tonight.
   
   
5. Tables Match: Team 3-D Vs. The Steiner Brothers
   Rick went through the table first. Then Scott frankensteinered Brother Ray through the second table. The Motor City Machineguns come out as Team 3-D is about to attempt to injure Scott with a chair. A Bulldog through a table wins the match for the Steiners thanks to the MCG assist.
   
   Winners: The Steiner Brothers
   
   Backstage, ODB, Angel Williams, Talia Madison and Shelley Martinez are around. ODB does the talking running down the other 3 and she's not a bad promo.
   
   
6. TNA Women's Championship Gauntlet
   Standard TNA Gauntlet rules apply, 1 minute between entries, down to the last 2 women it becomes pinfall or submission.
   Ms. Brooks and Ms. Jackie Moore are the first 2 women in the match. Shelley Martinez is third and Awesome Kong is 4th. Kong's music kind of sounds like Samoa Joe's. By the time Kong gets to the ring, ODB's music hits and she is #5. Ms. Brooks and Shelley Martinez are both eliminated by Awesome Kong. Kong then eliminates Ms. Jackie and it is her and ODB in the match. Angel Williams is #6. Christy Hemme is #7, good luck to her. Kong is fustigating everyone. Gail is #8 and finally 3 girls eliminate Awesome Kong. Talia Madison is #9 and Angel Williams is out via Gail and ODB. The last person is Roxie Laveaux. Madison and ODB are eliminated back-to-back and it is Gail Vs. Roxie to crown the champ.
   
   Gail wins the championship.
   
   Winner: Gail Kim
   This was fun, especially Kong crushing people. I want to see Awesome Kong Vs. Samoa Joe right now.
   
   Nash is talking to Angle. Angle says Nash has lost his edge and that he should buy a front row ticket and watch the match with the rest of the idiot fans. Memo to TNA, it might not be a great idea to imply that a front-row seat can be had at the mid-way point of the show.

7. There Must be a winner: Christian Cage Vs. Samoa Joe
   Matt Morgan as special enforcer
   Crowd treats Joe like he's a superstar, too bad TNA won't take note of this. Hot crowd for what is in the initial stages just a Joe beatdown. The crowd is so hot for Joe that Tenay and West shut up for a few seconds so we can hear it for ourselves. Best few seconds of audio in company history.
   
   A fun match which mostly sees Joe pounding on Christian with stiff kicks and clotheslines and power moves. Joe keeps going for pins and keeps getting close nearfalls much to the disappointment of the crowd.
   
   Finally, Tomko tries to interfeer but he and Morgan brawl. Styles tries to sneak in but Morgan catches him and then chases them off. Christian cheats and hits an Unprettier but it only gets 2. Christian hooks a rear naked choke but Joe escapes. Musclebuster by Joe, then kokina clutch and Christian taps out.
   
   Winner: Samoa Joe
   I wish I could grow extra thumbs to point up for this.
   
   JB with Nash in the back. Sting comes in and cuts a promo saying it is all about respect. Nash says he needs Angle, he says Sting is in the main event, and this is as close as Nash is going to get.
   
   
   
8. Monster's Ball: Raven Vs. Black Rain Vs. Rhino Vs. Abyss
   They make a note of the fact Abyss has been in all 4 Monster'S Ball matches and has yet to be victorious.
   
   Weapons, plunder, spots, the trademark go through the wall spot...and the crowd is still super hot for all of it.
   Just a lot of stuff happening, people bleeding and tacks and glass and a black hole slam on Raven in the tacks/glass mix wins it for Abyss.
   
   Winner: Abyss
   Another fun match.
   
   Sting and Kurt Angle video package.
   
   
9. TNA World Championship Match: Kurt Angle Vs. Sting
   Another fun match. A ref bump as Sting had Angle beat. Nash did some interferring on Angle's behalf. Sting fights both Nash and Angle off, deathdrop on Angle, victory for Sting.
   
   Winner: Sting
   Sting celebrates to send the fans home happy.
   
   My thoughts: Thumbs up show!

TNA Wrestling's 'Bound for Glory 2007' Preview and Predictions

Welcome to the big preview and predictions column for this Sunday’s bound for Glory event. This is it, the big show, the signature event, TNA’s Wrestlemania. Well, now we know what Wrestlemania would feel like if it were booked by TNA.
If you like stipulation matches and matches with illogical build then this is the show for you because we’ve got plenty of the first and no shortage on the second. Lets run this card down and see what we’re dealing with at Bound for Glory 2007.

Ultimate X Match:
Triple X Vs. The Latin American Xchange
Ok, as near as I can figure it here is the build for this match. Both Triple X and LAX have X in their name and are thus qualified to be in Ultimate X because we’re required by law to have an Ultimate X match on this show.
The 2 teams have had minimal interaction save for being on opposite sides of an 8-man tag on the 2 hour debut of iMPACT. Really, this match is just on the show to have a good match on the show. I ordinarly don’t object to that sort of thing but the few fans TNA does have are in to both of these teams and would like to see some attention paid to them.
This will open the show and it is a risk because there is potential that nothing else on the card will be able to top it. Really, picking a winner here doesn’t matter because it isn’t as though either team will advance past this point but I’m going to take LAX.
Winners: LAX Homicide and Hernandez

Fight for the Right - 16 man Reverse Battle Royal for Future Title shot
Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Jimmy Rave, Lance Hoyt, Eric Young, Petey Williams, Robert Roode, James Storm, Chris Harris, Kazarian, Junior Fatu + others

Yes, it is back, the worst gimmick match I have ever seen and the reason I’m recapping this show. Hey, if TNA is going to book it, I am going to be there to make fun of it. As a tease, during the show, I will reveal my top 10 needed reverse gimmick match ideas.
An explanation of the rules since we’re not going to get one from TNA. All 16 men fight on the floor. The first 4 men to make it in to the ring will then fight with the man scoring the winning pin getting the future title shot. Why we couldn’t just pick 4 guys and have them wrestle for the title, I don’t know but it likely has to do with the need to get everyone on this show. I expect that Sonjay Dutt, VKM and maybe Sharkboy are 4 of the five remaining participants.
You can eliminate Shelley and Sabin because people like them so it isn’t going to happen. Eliminate Eric Young and Petey Williams because who cares? Eliminate Kaz and Robert Roode because they seem to be off in their own deal. Really, Junior Fatu, Chris Harris and James Storm are the only viable choices of the one’s we know so far. Well, the Chris Harris push stalled out over the summer, James Storm and Kurt Angle are both heels and Junior Fatu used to wrestle in WWE. Only way it is one of the mystery dudes is if one of those is RVD. Oh, and if Jeff Jarrett returns in the reverse battle royal I’ll laugh my ass off and he’ll win, thus ending the laughter.
Winner: Junior Fatu

Monster's Ball Match:
Raven Vs. Rhino Vs. Black Rain Vs. Abyss
Well, this match is different because this will have all of the blood and weapons and such. I’ll give TNA credit for this much at least they have the 4 best possible guys on the roster in this kind of match, well 3 and Black Rain who is useless at everything. Judas Mesias was supposed to be in this match but his injury in Mexico had to scratch those plans for the time being. I see Abyss as being the only viable winner. Rhino gains nothing with a win and loses nothing with a loss. Raven is way past the point of interesting and Black Rain is so useless that he’s practically guaranteed to go over just because of that fact.
I’ll go with my pick though and say Abyss goes over even after taking a big bump of some kind.
Winner: Abyss

Tables Match:
The Steiner Brothers Vs. Team 3-D
I cared about the first meeting between these 2 teams but don’t really care so much about the rematch. Way to build up a feud, TNA! Steiners won the first go-round so I’ll say Team 3-D does some cheating to even things up and prepare us for another wacky stipulation match in the future.
Winners: Team 3-D

TNA Women's Championship Match - 10 woman gauntlet
Gail Kim, Amazon Kong, Angel Williams, Shelley Martinez, Talia Madison, ODB, Christy Hemme, Jackie Moore, Ms. Brooks, Roxie Laveaux (earned the right to
enter the match last)
I know that Amazing Kong has signed a TNA deal. I don’t know what kind of deal the other 4 women are under, so it will either be Kong or 1 of the original Knockouts. I think that Kong winning the title and being set up as the monster for the other women to try and conquer would be the most interesting story. Plus, she’s already got a victory over my beloved Gail.
Winner: Amazing Kong

There must be a Winner: Matt Morgan as special Enforcer
Christian Cage Vs. Samoa Joe
I love matches that must have a winner because it implies that all other matches must not have a winner. What the company is going to do here is so obvious everyone but the announcers can see it coming. Christian will get all up in Morgan’s business, Morgan will punk him out and Joe will get the win. Thus Christian can say he only lost because it was 2 on 1 and as another bonus, Joe gains nothing from the win. Everyone loses which is standard opporating procedure in TNA.
Winner: Samoa Joe

TNA World X-division Championship:
Christopher Daniels Vs. Black Machismo Jay Lethal
Believe it or not, this match actually has a couple of months build behind it and even more amazing is that it kind of makes sense. Lethal pinned Daniels in a tag match at Hard Justice while Daniels was #1 contender for the X-title. So Lethal took Daniels’ place as top contender and then beat Kurt Angle to win the belt. Then, Daniels pinned Lethal in a non-title match.
TNA has screwed up bad when it comes to Jay Lethal. They didn’t even need an hour to start ruining any momentum he might have gained by beating Angle when he was punked out like a random jobber by Samoa Joe later in the show. Then he lost to Daniels on the next week’s iMPACT and then he and Sonjay were beaten down by Team 3-D on the 2 hour debut. Yeah, this guy is the X-division champion. Reportedly, Kurt Angle hasn’t been happy with the way Jay Lethal has been treated and maybe that’s what caused him to go on a drunk driving excursion.
As for who wins, who cares? Daniels has no defined character and Lethal has been made to look like a joke. Lethal’s last title reign only lasted a week so he’s already got that bested.

TNA World Tag Team Championship Match:
AJ Styles and Tomko Vs. Ron 'The Truth' Killings and Pacman Jones
So help me in an odd sort of way, Team Pacman is growing on me. Pacman Jones’ is the worst interview ever but he’s so bad I end up being entertained.
The trouble is that you can only do what they’ve done with him for so long before people catch on and people are catching on. So as funny as I find it to watch them do everything possible for him to avoid contact, I’m afraid my amusement is coming to an end.
I think it is time for the belts to go to Styles and Tomko. Plus, I think they can then annoy Christian by pointing out that they have belts and he does not.
Winner: AJ Styles and Tomko

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match:
Sting Vs. Kurt Angle
So get the logic of this match. Kurt Angle tells Karen to pretend that Sting slapped her so that Kurt has an excuse to go in to a rage and go after Sting’s own family. Kurt Angle is hoping that this will make Sting mad enough that he’ll revert to the Sting of old for the PPV and be at his very best.
So wouldn’t Angle attacking Sting’s son without any false motivation have accomplished the same goal. I mean the reason for the attack was already bogus so why do we even need a bogus reason in the first place when no reason at all would’ve theoretically accomplished the same thing.
As for who is going to win. Well, seeing as how Kurt was arrested for drunk driving and TNA has a strict drug policy, he should probably do the job. However, given that the previous line is a bunch of shit and given that Sting is unlikely to sign for another year in TNA, the drunken champion will probably retain.
The more interesting question, and not by much, is whether or not Kevin Nash costs Sting the bout as I theorized in my iMPACT coverage. Sting said to Nash that he was losing his edge and in Vince Russo’s world those comments are always a hint of something to come. So, since the buzz has been a Nash return to the ring, why not get it started here? Plus, talk has been of maybe Waltman and Hall coming in because TNA isn’t 1997 enough as it is so why not say that the whole thing was foreshadowed the whole time even if it really wasn’t so?
Winner: Kurt Angle

TNA is using TNA Today to introduce the new knockouts with Talia Madison being up first.

TNA sent out a mobile text alert last week saying that Kid Kash was at the TNA offices. I guess I'm the only one that remembers their last split. Here's a hint, it wasn't pleasant.

The company also sent out a mobile alert saying that Ultimate X would open Bound for Glory next Sunday. On one hand, TNa is smart to open the show with a match that will probably be good. On the other, and oddly much larger hand, after that match the chances of the show crashing and burning is pretty high and a match like Ultimate X can also deflate the crowd by making it difficult for anything to top it.

It was a close one, but in a narrow victory, WWE 'No Mercy' defeats UFC 77 'Hostile Territory'. I wonder if No Mercy would've won had John Cena not been injured and had the first new WWE champion in a year been less than the guarantee it is now. Perhaps, it also was victorious because of the Save_US_222 deal and the potential for Jericho to return. Plus, UFC 77 isn't the sexiest card. Bound for Glory is screwed, and Cyber Sunday also got no votes but in fairness to that show, it isn't like there is a card already. ShoXC got one vote and it wasn't mine though I am going to cover it.

Pacman rewards good behavior with bad wrestling

Adam "Pacman" Jones has purchased 1500 tickets for Bound for Glory to be given to Fulton County students as reward for good grades.

After they see the show, I wonder how many of those kids will flunk out next semester for fear of being rewarded with more TNA tickets?

In all seriousness though, this is a decent thing for Pacman to do or it is compared to some of the other stuff he has done.

Things on my Mind: First Edition, Quotes create Controversy, Unforgivable Booking, whither the Lightweight Rankings, More!!!

Welcome to a column that will become a semiregular feature here where I just talk about some of the things on my mind regardless if they're connected or not. My mind isn't cluttered often, usually it is empty, so I can't say how often you'll see these but I hope you enjoy them.

I'm not saying you need to agree or disagree with these thoughts, I'm just giving you a peak in to my thought processes. Yeah, its dangerous but what would life be like with out a little danger?

1. Just how thin is the ECW roster?
   Someone and I'm sorry I don't remember who otherwise I'd drop their name did a quick assessment today of the ECW roster. Factoring out injured/suspended wrestlers, women, and announcers there are exactly 12 performers on the roster. If TNA has too many people for a one hour show, ECW has too few.
   
   
2. If I'm a fan in Memphis, I'm pissed and not because I'm in Memphis.
   So you spend your money for a ticket to Unforgiven and while you don't know the main event when you purchase the ticket you get excited when you find out it is John Cena Vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship. Then you go to the show, you get a 5 minute match and then a disqualification ending. Then you see Jonathan Coachman book a Last Man Standing match for the next PPV. Talk about not getting what you paid for, perhaps WWE was mad at Memphis for hosting that Hulk Hogan Vs. Big Show match?
   
   
3. Why longer doesn't mean better.
   The talk has been that when TNA is moved to 2 hours on Spike that we will see an increase of in-ring time. I believe that this will actually be the case but I also believe it won't do any good. The storylines are bad, and the way TNA matches go, instead of getting interference now at the 4 minute mark you'll get it at the 6 minute mark.
   
   
4. The real gimmick match in TNA is...
   On a PPV that will feature: A Women's Gauntlet, a Reverse Battle Royal, A Tables Match, an Ultimate X Match, a Must be a winner match, a Monster's Ball match and that's only what we know so far, the real gimmick match is a singles match with no stipulations. Remember when TNA booked its first ever cage match and then waited another year before having another? Now we get a stip every week and sometimes multiple stips layered on top of one another. Eventually every match will have a gimmick and the real gimmick matches will be singles matches with no stips.
   
   
   
5. Triple H, defending the world against tag teams 2 teams at a time.
   I don't know what the reasoning is behind Triple H beating the tag team champions clean on Raw, then laying out the #1 challengers to those belts. Sad thing is that because of how much cash the WWE has they don't have to know the reasoning either.
   If you're Cade/Murdoch and London/Kendrick maybe you breathe a sigh of relief knowing that less people saw you get slaughtered then might otherwise have.
   
   
6. I miss the Midnight Express.
   I miss them and the Fantastics and the Rock N' Roll Express, but we can't go back to those days because anyone with the power to try has no desire to do so.
   
   
7. The champ is...deserving.
   I'm just going to say it. If there is one guy on the WWE roster who deserves the distinction of being WWE champion for more than a year besides John Cena, I don't know who it is.
   Cena is a hard worker, he has a unique connection with the crowd, he loves the wrestling business and he does everything the company has asked him to do. If giving him a year rain was their way of rewarding him for hard work and loyalty then I'm glad they decided to award someone for those things. I'm not Cena's biggest fan but in terms of his title reign, I've got no issue with it. In fact, in the age of title changes not meaning anything, Cena keeping the belt an entire year is kind of cool.
   
   
8. The Ultimate Fighter Season 6: Episode 1.
   Roman's freakout in the Doctor's office will remain funny as long as I'm able to imitate his accent. They didn't bury the guy which makes me suspect that he'll be back.
   I don't like the new rule but I'm willing to give it a chance. I don't like that the result of the fight doesn't determine who picks the next fight. I'd love to see Matt Hughes push Matt Serra's buttons in the way Jens Pulver did to BJ Penn last season. Maybe the show will prove me wrong, so I'll wait and see.
   Matt Serra is the real prick. I'm sorry but maybe Matt Hughes is cocky and arrogant. If that's really the case, maybe it is because he's Matt Hughes!! Serra's the one that does all the talking and name calling and he's the one we're supposed to be sympathetic for? Also, I love Hughes mastery of Serra's paranoya with Joe in the first episode. Matt had no intention of picking Joe at all but forced Serra to pick him first in order to make sure Hughes couldn't, and it is clear to me that Joe wasn't #1 pick material.
   
   
9. Where's the top 5 of the top 5 Lightweight Rankings?
   It is tough for me to do those rankings right now. The fact is the division is in a bit of a mess. If we set the limit at 155 LBs what does that mean for Takanori Gomi and Joachim Hansen and guys like that who fought above that in Pride? Add to that the uncertainty around the UFC Lightweight championship and in many ways the class is just too messy to sort out. I may put those on hold for now, see if things straighten out in the next little while before revisiting them. I intend to update my rankings after UFC 77 next month.
   
   
10. Quotes create controversy, but was it right?
    
    

    “I’d like to make out with Gina, but I am here to knock her out. Either way she wants it, though, is fine. with me.”
    

    
    
    This one quote at the press conference uttered by Tonya Evinger set off an entire sequence of events for this past weekend's EXC 'Uprising' show which perplexes me.
    
    The quote was brought up during the fight and prompted an exchange between Bill Goldberg and Mauro Ranallo which sparked a lot of debate on internet message boards. Goldberg said:

    I'm not going to touch that one with a 25 Foot pole.

    Ranallo responded with:

    I'd like to touch it with a 25 Centimeter one.

    I called Ranallo's remark a Jerry Lawler comment since that's the kind of thing you'd hear on Raw. But, when I started to see search after search for Mauro Ranallo 25 CM or Gina Carano 25 CM, I knew people were going to be talking.
    Look, people are mad because they think that Ranallo degraded Women's MMA with his comment. There was even speculation that this might cost him his EXC gig which is what would be an outrage to me. First, it isn't as though Showtime is the family friendliest network on the air. Second, the guy made a joke. There seems to be a double standard imposed on men and women. Nobody would think much of it if a room full of women had made sexual remarks relating to the guys involved in any of the other 4 bouts on the card. I know women who watch MMA for the bodies and not the sport, isn't that degrading the athletic accomplishments of the men? If that kind of thing isn't actively discouraged then why is it not ok for the reverse? I should note that I don't even think that Ranallo's comment degraded women's MMA at all but if you did I'd like to hear whether or not you think it would be ok for women to do the same during a men's bout.
    
    
    However, there was a quote that I thought could have done serious harm to Women's MMA and the sport in general. Gina Carano said after submitting Evinger that:

    I put her in the choke and I wanted to squeeze her until she couldn't breathe. Why won't you diiiiiiieeeeeee~!!!!

    
    Lets just say scanning referral logs brought up no hits related to that comment yet that was arguably worse than anything uttered by Ranallo or anyone else. Sure, I know that Carano wasn't speaking litterally and trying to join the chris Benoit society for pro athletes and I know she said it in the heat of victory. However, to me neither of those things is a good excuse. Just imagine one of the 6,000,000 talk shows that exist today getting ahold of that clip and leading off an MMA story with it and not providing any context? Comments like that don't do the sport any favors whatsoever and anyone that wants to see the sport thrive should've been complaining about that comment more than anything else.
    
    
11. If Gina Carano is the face of Women's MMA, the mask better come off.
    Hey, I have nothing against Gina Carano at all. I know she's popular, checking my referral logs is always a good reminder of that fact. I'm not even saying that Carano shouldn't be the face of Women's MMA.
    I think that if EXC is trying to protect Carano by feeding her opponents they believe she can beat, eventually the bloom will come off the rose and it might not even be Gina's fault. Women's MMA is a relatively new sport and compared to the men there's just not as much top-flight competition. This makes it harder to hide or protect someone because there's fewer trees in that particular forrest.
    The Amanda Buckner's, Tara LaRosa's and Shayna Baszler's of the world need to be factored strongly in to Gina Carano's future if EXC wants people to take their women's division seriously.

Rikishi would have to use a different name if he debuts with the company tonight. It is possible that he could be involved in an angle of some kind that also involves Samoa Joe.

Bound for Glory Ticket Sales

Whats up fellow Hooligans, I thought I would share some news with you. As you know that on October 14 2007 TNA will have its first show here in Atlanta. Tickets went on sale today through Ticketmaster and as of right now, sales are sucking. I went on to Ticketmaster's site on four different times and asked for the best seats available. I was given the same general area each time. They were good seats but I would not pay for them. The prices of tickets go from $15 to a questionable $150. This is a little too much to ask for due to having never run a show here before. I think it could be too early to run a show in Atlanta where the Chris Benoit deal actually went down. It could also be that people just never heard of TNA. I can see the ticket prices dropping very soon and it looks like it won't be a sellout. This show could be a disaster waiting to happen. Or it could be people listening to Casey. Lets all protest TNA and don't go to the show. For now enjoy your weekend and be HARDCORE.
