MONDAY NIGHT RAW: OCTOBER 29TH, 2007

THE BIG NEWS:

Nothing.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The show starts out with a diva battle royal. There is a bunch of diva's in the ring and they do punches and whatnot until Kelly Kelly is finally the last one in the ring for the victory. Beth Phoenix comes out and gets a sky high slam on Kelly Kelly. I knew right away that I was going to be in for a long and terrible night of Raw after I saw this horrendous opening to the show. Terrible booking, what else can I say.

Shawn Michaels comes to the ring for a Promo. He explains that he wants a re-match against Randy Orton because of the finish to his match last night at Cyber Sunday. This brings out Vince McMahon who gets on the microphone and doesn't really say anything that matters a whole lot. He egged Michaels on about his religion and how he knows Michaels wants to destroy Orton. Michaels said that he will admit that. McMahon said some childish things after that and left. This segment left me feeling confused and I almost changed the channel.

HARDCORE HOLLY/CODY RHODES VS WORLDS GREATEST TAG TEAM:

Back and forth between Hardcore Holly and Shelton Benjamin to start. Charlie Haas got tagged in but Holly took him out with some vicious chops. Haas comes back with a take down and punches. Holly comes back with a dropkick and tags in Cody Rhodes. Rhodes entered with a front flip shoulder block on Haas followed by dropkicks. Y2J chants begin. Holly and Benjamin wind up on the outside. Rhodes hits a DDT on Haas for the victory. Holly leaves in disapproval. This was a bad match which was partly due to the shortness of it.

Orton was backstage preparing Umaga for the main event.

Beth Phoenix was backstage and said that she doesn't regret injuring Candice Michelle last week.

Mickie James was backstage and thanked Murdock for saving her last week. Cade comes into the picture and seems jealous of their conversation. He told Murdock to get his head in the game and focus.

Regal was backstage talking to McMahon about nothing of course. McMahon explained that he wanted Triple H injured tonight because “It's personal”. Hornswoggle comes in. McMahon told him that he needs him to be tough if he wants to be a McMahon.

COACH VS HORNSWOGGLE:

Mick Foley comes out to be the special guest referee. Coach throws Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle comes back with kicks. Coach hits a nice beard grab. Foley helps Hornswoggle get a crotch ram. He then hits a dropkick and butt stomp. Hornswoggle misses a dive. Coach hits Foley in the eye. He goes for a chair but Foley stops him and punches him in the head. Foley gives Hornswoggle a sock so he could use it to grab Coaches crotch. He then hits a nice frog splash for the victory. This was nonsensical booking.

Triple H was backstage and said that he is still the game. He said other things that didn't matter but to sum it up, he just told people that he is “The Game”. How insightful.

PAUL LONDON VS LANCE CADE:

Cross body by London to start. Cade comes back with a backdrop and punches to the back. London hits a nice kick and springboard. This is followed by an atomic drop and a Huracanrana which looked nice. For no apparent reason, Kendrick dives over the rope to land on Murdock. He ended up only partially hitting Murdock which looked bad as his head was driven right into the concrete. I thought he was knocked out. Cade hits London with a sit down front slam for the victory. The Highlanders come out and beat up the wounded men in the ring. The fans were booing for this entire segment.

JEFF HARDY/D.H SMITH VS CARLITO/MR. KENNEDY:

Close line by Jeff Hardy on Mr. Kennedy to start. Kennedy hits a kick and tags in Carlito. Hardy pounds Carlito and hits the mule kick. He goes for the split legged pin for only a two count. D.H Smith gets tagged in and clinches in an arm bar on Carlito. Carlito comes back with chops. Smith recovers and throws Carlito out of the ring. Hardy then throws Kennedy out. Commercial break. We come back to a leg hold by Carlito on Smith. Smith gets out but Kennedy gets tagged in and works over the leg more. There was a weird tag in tag out ordeal during this part and I wasn't sure what they were doing exactly. Carlito works over Smith's leg again and so does Kennedy. Smith hits a high kick and makes the hot tag to Hardy. He cleans house and hits the Whisper In The Wind. Kennedy breaks up the cover and goes for a big kick on Smith in the corner but misses. Hardy hits the twist of fate and the Swanton bomb on Carlito for the victory. This was the first part of the show where the fans showed a little bit of life. It wasn't their fault that the booking was so bad tonight and I kind of felt sorry for them for paying $45.00 for cheap seats even.

Santino Marella came out to bash The Condemned more. He is really good in this role by the way. Steve Austin's music hits but he doesn't come out. A fake Stone Cold is on the screen which is Marella himself dressed as the Rattlesnake. He apologizes and says that Marella is a great up and coming superstar. Maria comes out and tells Marella that Stone Cold will be on Raw next week. Marella thinks that its a joke. The fans seemed mad at this and were mostly silent during the segment.

Eve won the Diva Search. Yay.

RANDY ORTON/UMAGA VS TRIPLE H:

This starts with brawls all around. Triple H sends Orton into the rail. Umaga hits Orton accidentally. Triple H goes for the pedigree but Umaga breaks it up with a head butt. He hits a Samoan drop on Triple H followed by a splash. Shawn Michaels came out to clean house for the DQ.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

This was by far the worst edition of Raw in 2007. Raw's lack of superstars really showed tonight. The highlighted superstars on this edition of Raw were as follows: The Highlanders, Lance Cade, Paul London, D.H Smith, Coach, Cody Rhodes, Charlie Haas, Hornswoggle, 10 Diva's, Hardcore Holly, Santino Marella, and Shelton Benjamin. What a joke. Sure, you had Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kennedy, and Hardy on the show which they made very little impact. Raw is very much missing Booker T, John Cena, Bobby Lashley ect.... and it shows. This show was booked with worthless non sense and failed to start any new feuds for the upcoming PPV. Horrendous television tonight and it made me embarrassed to still be watching this product. I am confident that they will be back with a better show next week coming from L.A but wow.....i really feel for that Philadelphia crowd which were down right shafted tonight.

Hi friends Mark Danger here to cover the ShoXC show. I will start off that is my first MMA show that I am covering and will be very rusty at this, so please bare with me. Casey who was to cover this is feeling tired and I thought I would step up and do this. If I do a really bad job please don't hold it against the fine people here. So let the action begin...

Tonights fights is coming from the Chumash Casino in California. Al Bearnstein and Stephen something calling the action.

First match is Mushin Corbbery vs Bobby McMaster. Your ref for this match is Jason Herzdog. So here we go.

Rd.1) Both coming out boxing and starting of slow. Masters take a leg take down and put Crobbery on the mat. Master is pounding him. Crobbery has a cut and is now bleeding. Mastershis humbling him. Crobbery is show no defense for this punches. With some stalling Jason orders both men on there feet. I am puzzled why. Crobbery takes him down and just put him into a gulatine submisson hold for the win. Ok opener, but the crowd was dead on this.

Next fight we have Shayna Baszler vs Jen Tate. The ref for this match is Marcos Rozales. So let the cat fight begin.

Rd.1) Both ladies coming out and Baszler came out mounted Tate and made her tap. This was a very quick fight. It lasted a all of 44 seconds. All I can say is Damn!

Next up we have Malaipet vs Kaleo Kwan. Your ref for this match is Cecil Peoples. So lets dance.

Rd.1) Both are starting slow. Malaipet striked first with a low kick. Kwan has yet do anything as just leting Malaipet kick him all over. Kwan is hitting some left hooks, but still taken a beating. And thats Round 1. I have Malaipet winning this round.

They show some guy named Tito Ortiz.

Rd.2) They go back from where they started and Kwan just got knocked down by Malaipet. Kwan is showing no effort in this fight. Malaipet is just owning him every where in the cage.
With round 2 in the books I gave it to Malaipet. Kwan must step up if he wants to win this fight.

Rd.3) Both guys come back out on there feet. It has yet been taken to the ground. Malaipet hit Kwan with a flyin knee and Kwan taped his hand and told him he did a good job. Malaipet continues hitting leg strikes, but Kwan keeps standing. Kwan grabs Malaipets leg and tried to put him on the ground and lost his mouth guard and Kwan lost that edge and Malaipet got saved by that. With round 3 ending Malaipet won. Malaipet won by decision. This was a very boring fight.

Next fight we have Javier Vazquez vs JC Pennington. Your ref for this match is going to be Jason Herzdog.

Rd.1) Javier came out with a kick and stunned Pennington. Javier takes JC to the ground and is mounting him and put a rear naked choke hold. JC had nowhere to go and was forced to tap out. Your winner Javier Vazquez in a short 1m 15 sec. Javier announced his retirement that stunned everyone. Stephen was shocked from what he heard. Javier said its that time and wants to spend time with his family. I wish him luck.

Next is our main event with Aaron Rosa vs Jared Hamman. Your ref for this match is going to be Marcos Rosales.

Rd.1) Both men coming out strong. They are working a fast pace. Hamman mounting Rosa and punching him. Rosa can't move. And both men get back to there feet. The crowd is loving thisfight. Hamman takes down Rosa again and throwing more punches. Rosa staying on the ground and kicking Rosa. Rosa takes down Hamman and nothing happen. And thats the end of round 1. I gave it to Hamman.

Rd.2) Both guys come back out strong and Hamman mounts Rosa and is throwing punches and elbow strikes. Rosa is showing no defense as he is getting hurt. Hamman is trying to get a arm bar, but can't. Hamman rolls Rosa into a rear naked choke hold and picks up the win. By far the best match of the night.

I want to thank the fine people here at combat-hooligans for letting me do this. I had fun and hope I did a good job. If I didn't I will go to Euans house and let him kick my balls for fun.

Erik Anderson's 'Monday Night Raw' Recap for 10/22/2007

MONDAY NIGHT RAW: OCTOBER 22ND, 2007

THE BIG NEWS:

Shawn Michaels makes the fans want to choose him for the title shot at Cyber Sunday and we found out that Davey Boy Smith had a son that is now a Pro Wrestler.

WHAT HAPPENEND?

Mr. Kennedy was in the ring to start the show. He tore down his competition for his possible title match at Cyber Sunday. The fans were very hot for this segment. Kennedy compared Shawn Michaels to Rudy Giuliani and Jeff Hardy to Hillary Clinton. His heel performance here wont get him any votes but it will definitely up his stake in the company. Hardy shows up in the crowd which was a very nice idea for spontaneous value. He ran down Kennedy gaining the fans cheers. He attacks Kennedy in the ring. They brawl for a little while until Randy Orton made his way out to beat down Hardy. Just as Orton and Kennedy had the advantage, Shawn Michaels runs out to take out Orton. Very good segment to start the show.

London/kendrick/Mickie James vs Cade/Murdock/Melina:

Headlock by London on Cade to start things off. Shoulder block by Cade. London comes back with a springboard cross body. Kendrick gets tagged in and hits a sunset flip and an arm drag on Cade. Mickie James and Melina both tag in. James hits a nice spin kick. It was fast paced at this moment. Cade comes in and hits a neck breaker followed by elbow's and knee's on Kendrick. Murdock helps Cade hit a leg drop from up high. Finally, London gets tagged in and cleans house with a heel kick. Both women enter the match and brawl to the floor. Cade gets turned around and close lines his partner Murdock. London recovers and gets the pin. Good match to start the program. This is exactly how I would have booked the first two segments of the show. Interesting note after the match was Jerry Lawler making the claim that Cade's close line on Murdock was the most devastating close line that he has ever seen. Really Lawler? The most devastating? How long has Lawler been in the business? I'm sure it wasn't his fault as Vince McMahon was most likely talking to him in his ear piece.

Backstage, Jeff Hardy explains himself to Shawn Michaels. Michaels was worried that Hardy might turn his back on him in the main event later tonight.

Cody Rhodes was backstage reading the WWE magazine when Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin interrupt to make fun of his losing streak. Cody fires back like the face he is and Benjamin counters with a match proposal for later in the night.

Coach is backstage talking to William Regal. He explains that he wants Hornswoggle in a match tonight. Regal says yes. Coach then said that the match would actually be Hornswoggle vs Umaga instead. Regal walked off with a grin on his face.

Cody Rhodes vs Shelton Benjamin:

Benjamin starts out strong attacking the legs of Rhodes. Rhodes comes back with punches, a knee lift, and a bulldog for a two count. Haas distracts Rhodes as he hits the ropes. Benjamin then goes for the roll up but it gets reversed and Rhodes picks up the sloppy victory. Not even Ric Flair can make Cody Rhodes or Santino Mirella look good in the ring. Why did these two get hired again?

D.H Smith vs Carlito:

D.H Smith is the son of the late Davey Boy Smith. Smith starts out with some nice technical moves on Carlito. Smith hits some nice chops, punches, kicks, and finally a body slam. Carlito comes back with a close line for a two count. European uppercuts by Smith followed by a series of dropkicks and a nice suplex. Carlito comes back with a springboard elbow but it wasn't enough as Smith gets up and hits the running power slam for the pin fall. My biggest complaint here is using a man like Carlito for the Job to D.H. Smith. You could have used any no name jobber but instead you use a guy that has needed a push for 1 year now. How are you going to build new stars if they job every week?

Beth Phoenix is backstage and wants Candice Michelle to worship her. Nice. Michelle said that she wants her title back.

Umaga comes out to face Hornswoggle. Apparently Umaga has prior beef with Hornswoggle that nobody knew about. Hornswoggle came out from under the ring and didn't want to come into the ring to face Umaga. Instead, he ran to the back and got Triple H. Triple H came down to the ring slowly and attacked Umaga. Back and forth brawling until refs came in to break it up. They did about 14 classic pull a parts here which was very tiresome but effective.

Diva search garbage was next. I refuse to review this reality television wannabe garbage.

Orton is backstage and tells Mr. Kennedy that he needs to help him weaken Hardy and Michaels since the fans wont choose Kennedy anyways. Kennedy held his ground and let Orton know that he wasn't necessarily on his side.

Santino Mirella comes out with Maria. He trashes Stone Cold for a while until the screen showed Y2J's entrance theme. The fans weren't as excited here as they normally are. Mirella stated that the entrance theme was probably Stone Cold playing games with him. Ron Simmons makes his way out.

Santino Mirella vs Ron Simmons:

Santino Mirella starts off with leg kicks. Ron Simmons comes back with punches and a side elbow. Mirella takes Simmons down and hits some sloppy looking punches. While Mirella was in the corner, he kicked Simmons in the crotch for the DQ. You can't do this every single time for Mirella to try to hide his terrible wrestling ability. The fans have finally caught on to the fact that Mirella can't hardly last 2 minutes in a wrestling match. His days in the WWE are short.

Triple H cut a boring promo on Umaga backstage.

Candice Michelle vs Beth Phoenix:

This starts with a Huracanrana by Candice Michelle on Beth Phoenix. She then goes for a sunset flip but the Glamazon (whatever that is) chokes her and hits a slam for a quick victory. Remember, this is set up to be a 2/3 falls womens title match. Commercial break. We come back to see the Glamazon hitting large kicks. Michelle comes back with a series of kicks, punches, and spin kicks. Michelle went to the top rope only to be sent to the canvas which seemed to be on her head. Phoenix gets the pin fall and retains her title. They made a big deal about her fall to the canvas. I am sure nobody else really cared though.

Shawn Michaels/Jeff Hardy vs Randy Orton/Mr. Kennedy:

Mr. Kennedy starts out with punches on Shawn Michaels. Michaels comes back with chops. Michaels goes for a swinging neck breaker but Kennedy messes it up of course so it looked pretty bad. Jeff Hardy gets tagged in and destroys Kennedy with half the moves in his arsenal including a high double stomp. Kennedy dodges a flying close line and tags Randy Orton who takes out Hardy with a close line. Kennedy gets tagged back in along with Michaels and Michaels hits him with an atomic drop and a body slam. Orton distracts Michaels to give Kennedy the upper hand on Michaels. Orton came back in to beat down Michaels some more. Back and forth. Kennedy hits a double back breaker on Michaels. Michaels tried to make a couple of come backs on Kennedy only to be sent back down. Orton came in and applied more rest holds on Michaels. Finally, Michaels makes the hot tag to Hardy who cleans house with the whisper in the wind and other moves. Kennedy messes up on an Irish Whip during Hardy's comeback. Somebody make Kennedy wrestle long house show matches or whatever it takes to get him up to speed with the rest of the talent! Hardy hits the Swanton Bomb on Kennedy for the pin fall. Orton came back in to go for the RKO on Hardy but Michaels made the save with a Super kick on Orton.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

This was an action packed show featuring six matches which is good for the WWE these days. The first two segments of the show were booked perfectly but it kinda fizzled out after that. All in all, this was a good show leading into the Cyber Sunday PPV and it probably garnered a lot more buys.

Austin Creed, AKA Rasheed Lucius Consequences Creed has been offered TNA deal

Austin “Consequences” Creed, the wrestler that replaced Adam “Pacman” Jones at Bound For Glory, has been offered a TNA contract.

TNA Booking Director Bill Behrens handed Creed the envelope containing the contract in the ring at last night's NWA Anarchy show in Cornelia, Ga. Creed received a tremendous ovation from the the fans filling the NWA Arena, the same fans who had witnessed Creed's rise to stardom over the last 17 months.

Behrens called the contract offer an opportunity to fulfill a dream.

Behrens mentioned the other TNA stars that once called the NWA Arena in Cornelia home including A. J. Styles, Hotstuff Hernandez, Abyss and Ron Killings.

Creed made his Anarchy debut on June 3, 2006. Right from the get go, it was obvious that he was something special. Creed was paired with Hayden Young to become one of the hottest acts in the company as Awesome Attraction. Their current six month reign is the longest in NWA Anarchy history.

As for the rest of the evening, the fans got more than their money’s worth – plenty of in ring action and some killer angles. It’s a lock that this show will produce two jam packed hours of television.

There were over 200 people in the building. Coming off of a house of 290 for Fright Night, Anarchy has broken 200 at consecutive television taping. These people are hooked bad, and they need their biweekly fix.

(1) Wes Grissom & Chris King beat Talent and $ (J. T. Talent & Andrew Pendleton III) in 5:06. Another great pop for Grissom. He pulled off a major Lucha style satellite headscissors. Pendleton added the catch phrase “now that was money” and a heelish laugh when he did his neckbreaker spot. Pendleton tried to intimidate Grissom. He needs to lose those girlie slaps. The finish was nice. While Referee Ken Wallace was admonishing King, Pendleton planted Grissom on the top rope for Talent. When Wallace admonished Pendleton, King spilled Talent off the ropes and Grissom hit a Shooting Star Press for the pin. There was some serious contact on that SSP.

Melissa Coates crashed a backstage interview that John Johnson was fixing to do with Anger Alliance (sans Adam Roberts). She went ballistic on Johnson, accusing him of being the secret admirer that sent her flowers at the last TV (since day one, Johnson had been making suggestive remarks about Coates on commentary). Roberts showed up and argued with Chase about the leadership of the Alliance. Roberts said he would be thinking about the three of them when his hand was raised in victory as the new Anarchy TV Champion. Chase wondered how Roberts was able to finagle a title shot.

(2) Truitt Fields pinned Adam Roberts to retain the NWA Anarchy TV Title after Roberts was distracted by Brodie Ray Chase (8:42). Fields is over period. Roberts was good in the role of the wily veteran trying to capitalize on his opportunity. First, he succeeded in getting Fields pissed off. Then, Roberts posted Fields shoulder and followed up with a divorce court at two minutes into the match. I liked the aggressiveness in this spot. Roberts gave Fields a hammerlock slam on the floor. Just as Fields rallied with a middle rope bulldog, Chase walked out to ringside. Fields foiled Roberts’ finisher. Roberts dumped Fields out of the ring and had angry words with Chase. Fields caught Roberts with the Killing Fields, except this was Rockbottom style. Interesting timing since Rock was just elected into the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame.

(3) Kory Chavis (with Attorney Jeff G. Bailey) decimated Billy Buck in 3:49. Crowd was hot and split for this one. The crowd popped for Chavis as the cool heel. This was a grade A squashing by Chavis. He’s really moving well at his lowered weight, while maintaining a degree of muscularity. All the fight had gone out of Buck by the 3 minute mark. Chavis hit a sitout gordbuster, a high boot and finished with the Spinesplitta.

Jeff Lewis jumped Chavis after the match. He was going crazy on Chavis until Abomination showed up. A-bomb hit Lewis with the Final Solution and Chavis locked in the Hillside Strangla. Chavis refused to break the hold until the refs came out. Bailey finally said enough and gave Lewis a parting stomp.

Backstage, NWA Anarchy owner Jerry Palmer was interviewed by Greg Hunter. Palmer said he didn’t have any answers about the disintegration of Urban Assault Squad. Palmer said neither Nemesis nor Shadow Jackson would return his calls. Hunter said Jeremy Vain was still kavetching about the way he lost the TV title. Palmer said Vain lost on a level playing field and it was a closed book as far as he was concerned.

(4) Tony Santorelli and Sal Rinauro went to an alleged 10 minute draw (actual time of 8:50). The only match that didn’t work and it wasn’t a bad match. In fact, it was a very good match technically, just not the one this crowd wanted to see. Rinauro got a great pop coming out, but they went dead after the opening bell. The first five minutes was mostly on the mat, which is an acquired taste for most Anarchy fans. Santorelli assumed control and was able to thwart Rinauro’s comebacks. At one point, Rinauro took a bump out of the ring where his body made a sick thud when hit the wood floor. There was a mixup on the time, which voided Rinauro’s big comeback before the finish. Santorelli caught Rinauro coming off the ropes and applied his chickenwing crossface variant. He had it on like forever before the bell rang. Santorelli went nuts about not getting the win.

(5) Slim J & Awesome Attraction (Austin Creed & Hayden Young) beat Devil’s Rejects (Azrael & Shaun Tempers & Patrick Bentley with Reverend Dan Wilson ) in 10:10. Bentley came to ring wearing a freaky mask. Once removed, his facial expressions were freakier than the mask. The pop for the babyface trio was amazing. Creed teased throwing a trinket into the crowd and the squealing about blew my eardrums out. J is solid muscle like an MMA fighter. There’s a reason for that. J nailed Tempers with a step up kick and pointed at Bentley. Then he pounded Tempers from the mount. Bentley ate a pair of dropkicks and a Vader bomb elbow drop from Young. But Bentley got an assist from Tempers, and Young crashed to the mat on an ill-advised aerial move in the heel corner. Azrael applied a choke submission, as the fans chanted for Young. Young went for a frogsplash and somehow altered it to avoid a kick from Azrael. Creed took the hot tag and his offense was inspired. Creed had Tempers pinned with a somersault lariat. Bentley broke it up. J attacked Bentley, and the place exploded as they spilled over the ropes. Iceberg came out to shield Bentley from further abuse. The other Rejects had Creed set up for the hellhammer, but it was Young to the rescue with a missile dropkick on Azrael, and Creed pinned Tempers with a huracanrana. Humongous pop for the finish. The way the match was built around J getting his hands on Bentley worked like a charm.

Palmer summoned Behrens to the ring to present Creed with the TNA contract offer. Behrens mentioned that TNA considered a number of options before settling on Creed. Young got on the mic to honor his parnter, but his emotions pretty much got the best of him. The babyface side of the dressing room hit the ring and hoisted Creed up on their shoulders. It was beautiful the way the fans got to share in the moment.

This was one of the most uplifting experiences in my 8 years of attending wrestling in Cornelia. The kid got the opportunity, and he made the most of it. And it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

(6) Todd Sexton beat Jesse Emerson via submission in 3:40. Emerson looks like a pro wrestler and showed some skills here, something he didn’t get a chance to do against . Sexton started out pure technico. Emerson stayed pretty even with him. Sexton decided to take the low road and beat up on Emerson outside the ring. Sexton got the tap out with front guillotine.

Wes Grissom hit the ring to confront Sexton. In a repeat of the last show minus the verbiage, Sexton blew off Grissom’s challenge.

(7) Derrick Driver & Steven Walters beat The Anger Alliance (Don Matthews & Brandon Phoenix with Brodie Chase) in 7:30. The babyface duo got their two minutes of fame before the Alliance put them through their paces. Matthews was the offensive star. When I watch him now, it’s hard to believe I once wrote that his chops looked lame. Matthews was killing them with strikes and his power game was spot on. Driver took the heat. Driver eventually made it to his corner, but Chase had pulled Walters off the apron. Phoenix dropped Driver on his freaking head with a release German suplex. Roberts came out and got into it with Chase. Matthews tried to play peacemaker. While this was going, Driver rolled Phoenix up. Roberts walked off on the other three, as the Alliance continues to crumble.

Eddie Rich threw it to the back where Nemesis was about to do a sitdown interview with Greg Hunter. This was an awesome segment. Nemesis glanced at the three security guard standing behind him and said he was feeling paranoid, like he was about to go to jail. Nemesis got in the big security guard’s face and started talking trash, challenging the hard guy to try him. The security guy didn’t move a muscle. Nemesis moved on to another, less imposing security guy and got a thrill when he made the “chump” jump. “This gorilla is no longer locked in a cage,” said Nemesis. He threw a chair at the wall. Security stepped forward. Nemesis (wearing a “Free T. I.” t-shirt) said he wasn’t Rodney King. Security backed Nemesis out of the interview area, down the ramp, through the ringside area and out the front door. All the while, Nemesis was issuing challenges and telling them not to step in his space. A tour de force performance by Nemesis.

(8) World’s Prettiest Tag Team (Seth Delay & Adrian Hawkins) beat Hollywood Brunettes (Kyle Matthews & Andrew Alexander) in a tornado tag match in 10:39. This was a wild, back and forth, spotfest of a brawl. They took full advantage of the rules. Brunettes came out in streetfight gear. Non-stop action. I’ll just hit on a few of the more brutal highlights. Brunettes gave Delay a double back suplex on the rail. Then they took turns choking him with a belt. Hawkins gave Matthews a snap suplex on the ramp, while Delay catapulted Alexander into the post. Alexander bled heavily after that one. Hawkins took a flying leap off the announcer’s booth to hit a double plancha. The finish went like this: WP2T kicked out of simultaneous pin attempts by the Brunettes. Brunettes went for the Sheeney Curse on Delay, but Hawkins broke it up. WP2T came back with an Overnite Sensation (Delay) and Unprettier (Hawkins) but Brunettes kicked out. WP2T blasted Brunettes with stereo knock out chairshots for the win. Revenge is sweet…and sick.

Jeremy Vain was accompanied to the ring by Rob Adonis. Vain accused Jerry Palmer of screwing him every way possible. He said the lumberjack strap match at Fright Night was “15 minutes of total unfairness,” and Truitt Fields had the help of seven people to beat him for the TV title. Vain ordered Greg Hunter to come down from the announcer’s booth to interview him. Vain berated Hunter. Adonis ripped Hunter’s suit and stomped on his glasses. Vain smacked Hunter in the face HARD, knocking him to the canvas. Palmer and the Attraction hit the ring to chase Vain and Adonis out of there. Hunter needed help getting to the back and did not return to his announce position. Vain crossed a line that hasn’t been crossed in Anarchy by getting physical with an announcer. I’m guessing that Palmer may have to revisit that closed book.

(9) Iceberg (with Reverend Wilson) & Mikal Judas beat NWA Elite (Shatter & Abomination with Attorney Jeff G. Bailey) in 10:19 when Judas pinned the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Shatter with El Crucifijo. Judas is over for sure but in a unique way. They stand (literally) in awe of the larger-than-life quality of his entrance before they pop. Wilson joined Johnson on commentary. That should be very interesting. Shatter wanted no part of Judas. Iceberg tagged himself in to face Abomination, who ended up on the receiving end of the most gargantuan top rope crotch ride I’ve even seen. Interference by Bailey set up a huge lariat on Judas by Abomination. The spot was timed and executed in such a way that Judas didn’t look stupid. The heels trapped Judas in the corner and worked him over. Iceberg would distract the ref with a wry smile in face, as if he might purposely be adding to Judas’ misery. Shatter was very impressive here. He was hitting power moves on a guy that is 6-7 and close to 300 pounds, and he’s gotten more animated with his facial expressions. Shatter goozled Judas. Judas goozled a stunned Shatter. Double lariats. Both men staggered backwards. Iceberg tagged in and hit the Ground Zero splash on Shatter. But Judas had made a blind tag. Abomination pulled Iceberg out. Dominous entered through the front door. Abomination went after him. Judas picked Shatter up like he was nothing (and he’s a good 275) and LAUNCHED him with the crucifix powerbomb for the 1-2-3.

After the match, Iceberg confronted Judas. When Judas dropped down to go under the ropes, Iceberg hit the Thigh Drop of Doom and the Ground Zero on him. Bailey and Shatter stood on the ramp laughing and applauding. Wilson and Iceberg glared at Bailey and Shatter, each side trying to creep the other out and neither having any success at it. They made their respective exits. Judas recovered for one final pop and left through the front door.

Middleweight Bout: Alan Belcher Vs. Kalib Starnes
Referee: Yves Lavigne

R1: Starnes tries an early takedown but eats some strikes from Belcher for his trouble. Starnes already busted open. Kalib takes him down but Belcher back up quickly. They clinch for awhile and Belcher nails a big knee. Starnes starts to land some strikes of his own and his standup has improved since we last saw him. Belcher starts to return fire with knees and uppercuts and Starnes is bleeding pretty good. They trade more shots, uppercut by Belcher and then he throws a couple of knees and some big kicks. Leg kick from Belcher and a second at the 30 second mark. Starnes hanging tough but eating some shots. 10-9 for Belcher

Dr. checks the cut, Starnes able to continue.

R2: More standup to start with Starnes getting the early advantage. Then Belcher responds with leg kicks and we know how Krazy Horse feels about Leg kicks. Fight haulted so the Dr. can check Starnes' cut. This fight is called by the Dr. Starnes drops an F-bomb, and it was directed toward his corner.

Winner: Alan Belcher - R2 1:39 via Dr. Stoppage
Light Heavyweight Bout: Stephan Bonnar Vs. Eric Schafer
Referee: Big John McCarthy

R1: Crowd behind Bonnar. Not much happens on the feet. Schafer takes Bonnar down and gets his back. Bonnar defending against Schafer's submission attempt, less than a minute left in the round. Round comes to an end. 10-9 for Schafer

R2: Schafer pulls guard early but Bonnar won't go down the way he did in the first. Bonnar hits some shots and then they transition to half guard. Bonnar starts to lay in shots, but Schafer doesn't defend. Finally, McCarthy steps in and ends the fight.

Winner: Stephan Bonnar - R2 2:47 TKO
Lightweight Bout: Alvin Robinson Vs. Jorge Gurgel
Referee: Mark McFeaney

R1: Big pop for the Cincinnati fighter Gurgel. They start trading right away. There was an audio drop, we've actually had several throughout the night. Fight goes to the ground with Gurgel doing most of the work and moving to side control. Mount by Gurgel at the end of the round. 10-9 Jorge

R2: Robinson wants to trade early, then takes Gurgel down. Gurgel works and ends up on top. Robinson is no slouch of his own and switches back to the top. Robinson is laying in with hammerfists and has bloodied Gurgel. Robinson laid in the beating to end things. Robinson 10-9, 19-19.

R3: Robinson takes Gurgel down immediately to start the round. The third round starting the way the second round ended. Rogan is plugging UFC's video on demand. Robinson is being active so the referee is not considering standing them up. Robinson has passed and is close to Gurgel's back, and the announcers are already talking about a disappointing loss. Robinson just lays in shots to end the round. 10-9 for Robinson, 29-28 Robinson.

Winner: Alvin Robinson - Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-27, 29-27)

Joe Rogan interviews Brock Larson...er...Lesnar as Rogan screwed up the name.

They've made no mention of the Couture situation yet.
Heavyweight Bout: Tim Sylvia Vs. Brandon Vera
Referee: Yves Lavigne

Sylvia gets a mixed reaction. Now they note that the winner of this could face Nogueira for the title.

R1: They clinch early and spend the early round in this position. Crowd gets hostile to the clinch work and they're finally separated. Sylvia nails a big shot, Vera answers.Vera with an elbow, Sylvia with a knee. Round ends to some major booing. Sylvia 10-9

R2: Vera hits a right to start but it is back to the clinch. A very loud, and noticeable boring chant erupts. It ends when Vera takes Sylvia down and in to side control. Vera hits some knees to the body. Sylvia gets up but takes an illegal knee to the head as he still had one knee down. Sylvia is given time. Vera hits some body kicks and a flurry to finish. 10-9 for Vera.

R3: Sylvia starts the round strong and pushes Vera up against the cage again trapping him. Sylvia nails more shots, lands everything and easily wins the round. 10-9 Sylvia, 29-28 Sylvia.

Winner: Tim Sylvia - Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-27)
Euan had better not hate this Sylvia performance or we'll take away his mustard.

Sylvia calls out...Cheick Kongo.
Vera puts Sylvia over as a nice guy and says he shouldn't be booed. He also said he broke his hand and went against the gameplan.
Vera asks the crowd if Sylvia whooped his ass, they respond with "nooooo" and he says: "I'm still at heavyweight then, bitches!" I love this man.

Rogan says something kind of stupid. He says that upsets are more common than expected. Um, aren't the point of upsets that they're all unexpected? Isn't that why they call them upsets?

Rich Franklin comes out to "Welcome to the Jungle" and to a jufustitastinormus pop from his hometown crowd.
Anybody who knows what song Anderson Silva came out to, let me know. The boos for Silva aren't as loud as I expected.
Middleweight Championship Bout: Rich Franklin Vs. Anderson Silva
Referee: Big John McCarthy

R1: Franklin hits strikes early, he avoids Silva's clinch attempts and takes him to the mat. Silva able to get back to his feet. Silva hits a body kick, Franklin responds with a right and Silva blitzes with a series of strikes. Silva blitzes Franklin again and rocks him at the end of the round dropping him at the bell. Because of the strong finish, Silva's round 10-9.

R2: Silva just comes back out and fustigates Franklin in the second round. Lays in knees after knees after knees and the fight is stopped by Big John McCarthy.

Winner: Anderson Silva - R2 TKO
Middleweight Bout: Demian Maia Vs. Ryan Jensen
Referee: Big John McCarthy

R1: Inside leg kick by Maia and takes Jensen down right away. Maia passes guard back to side control. Maia has good jiu-jitsu. Maia takes Jensen's back and is looking to finish. Maia chokes Jensen out. Impressive performance for Maia. It is too bad he's a middleweight and that's the house Anderson Silva lives in.

Welcome to Combat-Hooligans.com's live coverage of TNA Wrestling's biggest show of the year, or so they say. We've got gauntlets, reverse battle royals, Ultimate X matches, Monster's Ball, matches with Enforcers, Tables matches and matches with title belts on the line.

Preshow note, I may not be as verbose as usual, exhaustion is setting in. Some of you would argue that less of me is better, so tonight, you win.

According to the video package, guys have stuff they want to prove tonight. Fun!

Ultimate X: Triple X Vs. Latin American Xchange
Winners of this match become top contenders to the tag team championship.

A super-hot crowd tonight.

Hella-good match that inspires chants of "this is awesome" for a Skipper dive of the X-structure and "Holy Shit" for a neckbreaker spot also by the structure with Homicide and Senshi. Finish sees Hernandez bordertoss Elix to the floor on to Senshi and LAX grab the prize for the win.

Winners: LAX

Earlier today, Kurt and Karen Angle arrive separately and Kevin Nash is also in the house.

Crystal AKA Random interviewer girl #2 interviews Christian Cage.

Ok, 16 guys start out on the floor. First 8 in the ring then have a regular battle royal. Last 2 wrestle to a pinfall for the finish. Sound complicated? Yeah!
Fight for the Right Reverse Battle Royal:
Ok, so in edition to what I just said, the 8 wrestlers will be in a tournament to be held on iMPACT and the point of this battle royal is to determine seeding. We get down to the final 8 pretty quick which means the outside portion was quick. James Storm was the last man to make it to the ring, and then was the first man tossed out. So Storm is seeded 8th and will face the winner of this match in the first round of the tournament. Fatu out next so is seeded 7th. Chris Sabin is out third so is seeded 6th. Kaz is 5th, Hoyt is 4th and Shelley is third. Now it is down to Roode Vs. Young to see who the top seed is.

Young hits a small package and wins this thing.

The matchups to take place on iMPACT:
- #4 Lance Hoyt Vs. #5 Kaz
- #2 Robert Roode Vs. #7 Junior Fatu
- #3 Alex Shelley Vs. #6 Chris Sabin

Not as bad as the first, and really the match was fine once they got in the ring which was fairly quick in the process. Why you need to be so complicated to seed guys for a tournament I'll never know. I suggest though that UFC borrow this concept to crown a new UFC Heavyweight Champion.

Team Pacman cut a promo, a new member is debuting or something. His name is Consequences Creed. Pacman cut the best promo of his life. Then Kurt and Karen Angle are fighting.
TNA World Tag Team Championship Match: AJ Styles & Tomko Vs. Team Pacman
The new guy's name is Rasheed Lucius "Consequences" Creed, it must suck to sign his check. I see we are getting a lot of visiters wanting info on this man. I'll say this much, I don't know who the guy was but he looked acrobatic in the match. Meltzer wrote that TNA wanted Scorpio for the role but it most definitely was not Scorpio.

A fun match with a make-it-rain spot with Pacman making it rain and instead of counting the resulting pin attempt, Earl Hebner is too busy picking up the money. Yeah, that's not tasteless or anything, got to love the family friendly company! A double team move that I guess Tomko and Giant Bernard use in NJPW wins the belts for Styles and Tomko

Winners: AJ Styles and Tomko
Styles and Tomko are set to meet LAX at some point in the future.
The match was ok, crowd was in to it because of the Pacman and AJ Styles ties to the area.

Karen Angle is talking with Nash. She drops hints about Nash returning to the ring. The gist of it was that she threatens Nash, to get him to talk to Sting or else she and Nash might both lose their meal ticket if Kurt loses the belt.

A Christopher Daniels Vs. Jay Lethal video package airs.
TNA X-Division Championship: Christopher Daniels Vs. Jay Lethal
good match, crowd was in to it and Lethal retained the title. He missed the big elbow after kicking out of the BME and fighting off the last rights. He hit his Rock Bottom/Back breaker thing for the win.

Winner: Jay Lethal

Random interviewer #2 is with the steiners. It would seem that Scott Steiner is a fan of caffeine tonight.
Tables Match: Team 3-D Vs. The Steiner Brothers
Rick went through the table first. Then Scott frankensteinered Brother Ray through the second table. The Motor City Machineguns come out as Team 3-D is about to attempt to injure Scott with a chair. A Bulldog through a table wins the match for the Steiners thanks to the MCG assist.

Winners: The Steiner Brothers

Backstage, ODB, Angel Williams, Talia Madison and Shelley Martinez are around. ODB does the talking running down the other 3 and she's not a bad promo.
TNA Women's Championship Gauntlet
Standard TNA Gauntlet rules apply, 1 minute between entries, down to the last 2 women it becomes pinfall or submission.
Ms. Brooks and Ms. Jackie Moore are the first 2 women in the match. Shelley Martinez is third and Awesome Kong is 4th. Kong's music kind of sounds like Samoa Joe's. By the time Kong gets to the ring, ODB's music hits and she is #5. Ms. Brooks and Shelley Martinez are both eliminated by Awesome Kong. Kong then eliminates Ms. Jackie and it is her and ODB in the match. Angel Williams is #6. Christy Hemme is #7, good luck to her. Kong is fustigating everyone. Gail is #8 and finally 3 girls eliminate Awesome Kong. Talia Madison is #9 and Angel Williams is out via Gail and ODB. The last person is Roxie Laveaux. Madison and ODB are eliminated back-to-back and it is Gail Vs. Roxie to crown the champ.

Gail wins the championship.

Winner: Gail Kim
This was fun, especially Kong crushing people. I want to see Awesome Kong Vs. Samoa Joe right now.

Nash is talking to Angle. Angle says Nash has lost his edge and that he should buy a front row ticket and watch the match with the rest of the idiot fans. Memo to TNA, it might not be a great idea to imply that a front-row seat can be had at the mid-way point of the show.

There Must be a winner: Christian Cage Vs. Samoa Joe
Matt Morgan as special enforcer
Crowd treats Joe like he's a superstar, too bad TNA won't take note of this. Hot crowd for what is in the initial stages just a Joe beatdown. The crowd is so hot for Joe that Tenay and West shut up for a few seconds so we can hear it for ourselves. Best few seconds of audio in company history.

A fun match which mostly sees Joe pounding on Christian with stiff kicks and clotheslines and power moves. Joe keeps going for pins and keeps getting close nearfalls much to the disappointment of the crowd.

Finally, Tomko tries to interfeer but he and Morgan brawl. Styles tries to sneak in but Morgan catches him and then chases them off. Christian cheats and hits an Unprettier but it only gets 2. Christian hooks a rear naked choke but Joe escapes. Musclebuster by Joe, then kokina clutch and Christian taps out.

Winner: Samoa Joe
I wish I could grow extra thumbs to point up for this.

JB with Nash in the back. Sting comes in and cuts a promo saying it is all about respect. Nash says he needs Angle, he says Sting is in the main event, and this is as close as Nash is going to get.
Monster's Ball: Raven Vs. Black Rain Vs. Rhino Vs. Abyss
They make a note of the fact Abyss has been in all 4 Monster'S Ball matches and has yet to be victorious.

Weapons, plunder, spots, the trademark go through the wall spot...and the crowd is still super hot for all of it.
Just a lot of stuff happening, people bleeding and tacks and glass and a black hole slam on Raven in the tacks/glass mix wins it for Abyss.

Winner: Abyss
Another fun match.

Sting and Kurt Angle video package.
TNA World Championship Match: Kurt Angle Vs. Sting
Another fun match. A ref bump as Sting had Angle beat. Nash did some interferring on Angle's behalf. Sting fights both Nash and Angle off, deathdrop on Angle, victory for Sting.

Winner: Sting
Sting celebrates to send the fans home happy.

Simply Marvelous Mitch Ryder Recap

Keith introduces Mitch as a true king of professional wrestling. Mitch says he has been in wrestling since the Terry Garvin friendly age of seventeen. Mitch always aspired to be like Jerry Lawler until he got into the business and saw what an arsehole he was. Mitch also was a fan of Jackie Fargo as a kid. Keith asks what good advice Jamie Dundee give Mitch? Mitch says none, although says he always was in a condition to perform. Pro Wrestling Illustrated hate talk: Mitch says there is no interest and no need for PWI today. Dr. Keith then calls the PWI crap, Mitch replies that apart from number 327 of the PWI 500 then it is a pile of crap.

Keith asks how Mitch got involved with Chikara. Mitch says he was working for Ian Rotten at the time, and loves working for Chikara. Mitch talks about his wrestling for WCW and WWE. Keith asks about fond memories of WCW Saturday Night. Mitch puts over the great Center Stage saying it gives you a case of the goosebumps. Rider talks about working with The Steiners, Barry Windham and Arn Anderson amongst many others. Keith discusses the Cowboy Bill Watts regime. A highlight for Mitch was wrestling the likes of Rick Rude and Mick Foley. Mitch calls Rip Rogers the 'CHEAPEST MAN IN THE WORLD.' Steiner Brothers rib talk!

Onto WWE. Mitch talks about the Owen Hart tragedy and Vince McMahon's post tragedy birthday celebrations. Keith asks about traveling with Jamie Dundee and the Midget. Mitch talks road stories. Including taping duct tape and eight track tapes to the Midgets feet so he could drive 200 miles! The good doctor demands more midget stories! Mitch gives a MIDGET CHRISTMAS MARIJUANA story ~ yay! Mitch puts over the mindset of the young Chikara wrestlers as great students of the game and sees a great future for the promotion in 2008/09. Mitch name checks Claudio Castignoli as the top indie wrestler today.

Mitch Rider cuts a promo on Lince Dorado,: 'Listen closely to what I'm saying, before I am done with Lince Dorado, he will no longer wrestle in this country, you will know what I'll do to Lince Dorado, and there is no more Lince Dorado then and only then will I be done with him. This is personal, this has nothing to do with the wrestling business, this has nothing to do with anything, he's humiliated me. I'm gonna expose him for what he is. He's in hear under false pretenses, he's a liar, he's a cheat, he deserves to be in a prison somewhere. I'm gonna do everything I can to run him out of the company I love so much, Chikara.' Mitch talks about his prior hatred for Mike Wolfe and working with him in Rider's XCW Mid West promotion.

Lightening Mike Quackenbush Recap

Dr. Keith introduces Mike Quackenbush to the show. Mike talks of the concussion he received prior to winning the Ted Petty Invitational. The injury happened due to his left leg hitting the rope mid-tope. Mike calls it 'the nature of the game.' Mike talks about the different legislation in Illinois with no ringside physician being mandatory. Mike says he is '100% certain' he had a concussion likening it to alien abductions! The original plan was for Quackenbush to be removed from the tournament although Mike insisted but states it wasn't the 'brightest decisions of his life.' He credits the crowds emotions for getting him through and has no regrets saying in hindsight he'd do the same thing again.

Keith asks about concussions in professional wrestling. Mike says a lot of the information has only come to light since the Chris Benoit tragedy and most of the information has come from the likes of Nancy Grace. Mike credits Chris Nowinski for what he says on the topic. Mike says that the attitudes towards concussions were that of a minor injury until recently. He says that he has lost count of the amount of concussions he has had and says it is not unusual for a wrestler to have dozens of concussions during a career. Mike has since canceled a couple of ROH booking including the recent PPV taping. Mike aims to return to the ring for Michinoku Pro and says this is his fifth scheduled tour of Japan with him yet to appear.

Mike calls 2007 his greatest in-ring year to date and goes onto talk about the future plans of Chikara Pro and perhaps touring new markets and future wrestlers he hopes to bring in. Dr. Keith asks about bringing in the feuding Bryan Alvarez and Larry Sweeney to Chikara Pro. Keith urges fans to purchase more Chikara DVD's to hang from your Christmas trees.

Wellness questions! Keith asks if Mike can prevent the usage of Hydra. Mike suspects drug testing for independents could be too expensive. Mike says he is thrilled for his guys that make it big in the pro-wrestling world. Keith asks if we're going to see more of Quackenbush in ROH? Mike hopes so. What about IWA Mid South? TNA iMPACT recap for 10/11

Welcome to another recap of TNA iMPACT. Yeah, I said I was doing last week as a 1-time deal but a funny thing happened. I realized that I miss show recapping. Then the question was which show to recap? The fact is that sadly for me the only one I could do on a regular basis is TNA so here I am and here you are.

We start with a video package from last week's craziness with Angle and sting. Angle arrives with the football jersey of Sting's son.

We head in to the iMPACT zone and immediately to the ring.

Black Machismo Vs. Havoc
We start with the X-division champion and the last member of Serotonin.

Christopher Daniels was at ringside watching this non-title contest. It was pretty much a Lethal squash that ended with a flying elbow.

Winner: Black Machismo
Daniels tossed Lethal the title belt at the end of the match, and they will meet this Sunday at Bound for Glory.

A Manswers commercial makes me want TNA back.

Kurt Angle is on his way to explain why he did what he did last week. I'd prefer he explain why I should care about what he did last week or how he could talk to Sting without wearing an earpiece on his satellite feed deal.
Angle asks Sting if he likes the jersey. He did what he did because Sting laid his hands on Karen and because he wants to face the "Old Sting" at Bound for Glory. He says that Sting is welcome to come out and take his best shot. Instead Karen comes out and Tenay and West talk about marital problems. Jesus, not more marriage trouble between these 2 didn't we see this in August?
Karen says Kurt crossed the line. She says what if Sting were to hunt down Kurt's kids? She says that Kurt told her to say that Sting slapped her.
Sting comes out and says that Angle gets the old Sting and Karen is as responsible for this as anything. Of course, I need not point out that the Old Sting would not have spoken. Sting's music plays and it freaks the Angle's out but then Sting says he'll get him on his time, not Kurt's. All people who care about this raise your hand and hold it up until your arm falls of due to blood loss.
West says that the tag dream match between the Steiners and Team 3-D is finally going to happen. Yeah, finally after last month.

Backstage with Borash and Nash. Nash is looking for Sting in the rafters. He asks Sting if he really wants to go down this road again, it isn't going to do anyone any good. It also isn't going to make anyone any money. Sting asks Nash what he'd want to do if Angle attacked his son and Nash said kill him. Chris Benoit also gave that same answer but got confused as to who the "him" was supposed to refer. Anyway, Sting tells Nash not to lose his edge. Well, I guess we can count on Nash attacking Sting at the PPV now since nobody would see it coming.

Mike Tenay and Don West run down the rest of the night's show and the card for Bound for Glory.

Back with random interview lady #2 and Team Pacman. They're like competitors and stuff and there are 3 days to Bound for Glory. Adam Jones is the worst interview ever, he says that Triple X only want to be Pornstars.
Triple X (Elix Skipper and Senshi) Vs. Team Pacman
Starts out with Senshi...and Killings, yeah I know you're shocked.
They trade moves of little consequence and Pacman is tagged in to the ring. Tenay calls him the most controversial athlete in Pro Sports. He's way behind the time on that one.

The high-spot of the match comes when Skipper is about to finish off Killings and Pacman makes it rain on him and this leads to Killings getting the win. Well, Skipper should be thankful that at least he's able to walk after this rain making incident.

Winners: Team Pacman

Coming up, words from Christian Cage. Abyss and Rhino Vs. Raven and Black Rain. Team 3-D and Kurt Angle Vs. LAX and Junior Fatu.

Now the music for Rick and Scott Steiner hit and they head to the ring which is still occupied by the tag champs.

Rick says when you're the meanest dog on the block, a lot of people want to rattle your cage. Huh? On what block does that ever happen? Rick tosses out the "You want some, come get some, you don't like me, bite me" catchphrase that made WCW millions in 1999 and 2000.
Scott calls 3-D backyard wrestlers and champions of nothing. He also calls them fat and I guess is planning to beat some ass.

Backastage with Borash and 3-D. Brother Ray starts by calling the steiners mother a pig. "We're going to take some 3-d wood and shove it down your throats", and oral sex! Brother Ray then turns his attention to Brittney Spears. The word nonsensicle comes to mind listening to this promo. After Brittney Spears we find out that 3-D doesn't drink accept the rare 5 or 6 shots of Jack Daniels. The Steiners run in to the interview area and an argument abounds so we immediately cut to a commercial before something interesting can happen.

Knockouts are up next.

We're back and Talia Madson, Shelley Martinez, Angel Williams and ODB are all introduced to the crowd.
Gail Kim Vs. Amazing Kong
Your classic little woman Vs. Big woman match. Not much stuff happens that you don't ordinarly see in size mismatches, spots like Gail's dropkick having no affect and then the finish comes with a Kong powerbomb.

Winner: Amazing Kong
We even get a replay of the finish.

Then we go to a segment between Don West and Sonjay Dutt and I'm at a loss for why I should care, thus I do not.

Back with footage of Tomko defending the IWGP tag championship in Japan. Now we go to Christian's new talkshow, chatting with the champ. Wew, good thing we got that second hour for more wrestling matches.

Samoa Joe is the guest and if you can't tell what is going to happen, I'd like to congratulate you for watching wrestling for the first time ever tonight.
Yep, heel and face trade insults, and heel also insists that the set will not be destroyed tonight. Insults progress greatly and brawl happens. In this case, Christian the heel gets the better of the brawl.

Random interviewer #2 interviews LAX. LAX is back in full force and asses are gonna get beat.

Mor Manswers, can a man really kill a bear with his hands? I could kill one with a gun in my hands, does that count?
Robert Roode Vs. Petey Williams
West puts the hard sell on for the Reverse battle royal and I laugh. I love how Mike Tenay says that "eventually, it will lead to 1 winner". Something about the use of the word "eventually" makes me giggle.

Nice back and forth, Williams goes for the Destroyer countered into the Payoff and Roode gets the win.

Winner: Robert Roode
Roode insists that Ms. Brooks slap Petey Williams. Kaz hits the ring before it can go anywhere and we've got a post-match brawl. Good, we haven't seen one of those in a match or 2.

Kurt Angle looks for Sting in the men's room. Moving on.
Raven and Black Rain Vs. Abyss and Rhino
Match starts as Tenay pimps the uniqueness of guys teaming up who will wrestle at the PPV, yeah we never ever see that especially in TNA.

We hit a commercial and are back with all sorts of plunder and James Mitchell actively involved as well. Rain and Raven work together until Raven attempts a pin and for some reason Black Rain is not down with this, don't see why given it would win him the match.

Wacky miscommunication leads to Rhino taking a black hole slam from Abyss and Black Rain getting the pin. If this sounds interesting, you need to get your ears checked.

Winners: Black Rain and Raven

Random interviewer #2 interviews Junior Fatuh. He says the name changes but the man stays the same. Ok, whatever. Junior is added to fight for the right. I now know 11 of 16.

Matt Morgan cuts a promo and I can't believe WWE had this guy studdering. Actually, I can but it is because WWE is stupid. It isn't that Morgan is the best promo ever but he's good enough that you didn't need to handicap him with that.
LAX and Junior Fatu Vs. Team 3-D and Kurt Angle
Some stuff happens and we go to a break. Seriously, that's pretty much the gist of it all.

Stuff happened during the break and we're promised a replay.

Basically, Matt Morgan who I didn't even know was at ringside kicked the Latino Nation members out. In the words of Mike Tenay, Morgan is there to make sure that Angle doesn't run away and that Sting gets revenge tonight. I'm not even going to start on why that doesn't make sense.

Tenay and West aren't even talking about this match, they're shilling the PPV. Shows the priority of the freaking main event!

Angle puts Homicide in the anklelock and Junior kicks him off to make the save. Kurt gets the Stinkface. Team 3-D take Fatu out of the match and go for Hernandez. Somewhere in this mess, Homicide tries to pin Angle, only gets a 2 count and then Angle hits the Angle slam for the pin.

Winners: Kurt Angle and Team 3-D

Angle has the mic. Sting appears and says it is better to wait for BFG, then again...maybe not. Sting attacks Angle from behind, hooks the Scorpion and we're off.

Then we get a BFG commercial video package deal calling it like the biggest event in the history of the world or such. It is TNA's Super Bowl and World Series and on and on and on and on.

My thoughts: Probably a better show than last week overall, but the main event last week was way better.
I'll be back on Sunday for the PPV.

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RECAP FOR OCTOBER 8TH, 2007

THE BIG NEWS:

Shawn Michaels returns to much surprise.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Vince McMahon came out to start the show like he does every week and praised Randy Orton for his title win at No Mercy. He gloated for Orton and really put him over good here. After some more babbling, Triple H made his way down to the ring as expected. He demands Orton tonight in a re match for the title. McMahon suspiciously obliges and lets him know that he will get Orton along with Umaga in a handicap match for later on. I would call this dull for an opening segment but it could have been a lot worse.

Beth Phoenix/Melina/Jillian Hall vs Candice Michelle/Mickie James/Maria

This match starts with a head scissors take down by Candice Michelle on Beth Phoenix. James gets tagged in and hits a low dropkick. Phoenix comes back with a high knee drop. Jillian Hall gets tagged in and does a stretch maneuver on Mickie. Melina is tagged in and goes for the cover and gets a two count. Candice comes back in and cleans house. She hits a suplex for the cover but it's broken up by Phoenix. Candice then hits a somersault roll up for the pin fall. Quick match but a job well done.

Hornswoogle is missing. Oh Joy.

Santino Mirella vs Val Venus

Before the match gets under way, Santino talks to Lillian with the microphone. After a few meaningless comments, he says that he has prior obligations that he needs to fill tonight and wont be able to wrestle. This is fine by me because Mirella is not a good wrestler. Snitsky comes out to face off against Venus. This was not what I had in mind. Snitsky targets the bum knee with some kicks and leg tosses. Snitsky hits a body slam but Venus comes back and gets some punches in. Snitsky hits the big boot, double under hook into a close line, and finally the pump handle slam for the victory. Quick mention, Snitsky is noticeably smaller in overall mass which can only be explained by the wellness policy.

Cena makes a very genuine video about how he will come back for his title via satellite.

Randy Orton/Umaga vs Triple H

Orton and Umaga both attack Triple H at the bell and take him down. After a few minutes, Triple H was able to get a DDT on Umaga. They all go to the outside where Triple H receives head butts and punches. Back in the ring there is more gang up tactics followed by a big flying head butt. Orton hits a dropkick as well. Triple H was able to get Umaga out of the way and try for the Pedigree on Orton but Umaga comes in with a chair shot for the DQ. Orton and Umaga beat Triple H senseless after the bell. Orton leaves and Umaga continues with various moves until Triple H is out cold. They showed Triple H get up and walk off on his own to plug the beatdown's significance and Triple H's will to survive. I could have done without this. I don't understand why one would waste 10 minutes of precious air time to show how tough Triple H is. It was just as bad as watching Vince McMahon beat champions 1, 2, 3 in the ring.

London/Kendrick vs The Highlanders

The match starts with punches. Rory and Robbie find their way to the outside only to get a double over the rope dive from London and Kendrick. The highlanders recover and pound London in with hammer punches and rest holds. London hits an arm drag and gets the tag to Kendrick which cleans house with sidekicks. London then hits a back flip off of the side apron. Somehow Rory gets a roll up with the foot on the ropes for the pin. This was a short match that didn't really do to much for me.

Coach can't find Hornswoogle. Yippee!

Lillian performs a concert. The members are a perfect mix as usual for studio bands. You have the punk rock guitar player with a Mohawk, the black bass player with dreadlocks, and a jock looking second guitar player. This is the way every single studio band looks. Santino comes out after the song and tells them to hit the road. He then sings a song about The Condemned which was funny I thought.

Mr. Kennedy vs Jeff Hardy

This was a wise booking choice for the main event. Kennedy comes out to a mixed reaction which is good. Hardy comes out to a decent pop but nothing like he is used to. Match starts out sloppy with Kennedy missing punches and running into others. Hardy hits a crotch leg drop and follows with a spear where they both fell through the ropes and to the outside apron. Hardy climbs to the top rope and flys to the floor missing Kennedy. Commercial. Kennedy has Hardy in a half Boston Crab. Hardy gets out and the crowd starts a TNA like chant for both competitors. Hardy climbs to the top again only to get drop kicked back down by Kennedy. He applies the Half Boston Crab again. He breaks it and chops Hardy's leg from behind. He goes for the cover for a two count. Hardy comes back with a Jawbreaker and close lines. Kennedy attempts a backslide for a two count. Side Russian Leg Sweep by Hardy for a two count. At this point both men go for their finishers and they both get countered by each other. Hardy hits a huge brain buster which if you remember, used to be Edge's finishing move along with Gangrel. Crowd goes nuts at this point as Hardy climbed to the top for the Swan Ton bomb. He misses it and Kennedy goes for the pin. Hardy reverses the pin for the tight victory. Good match with great crowd response. This should tell the WWE something. Mr. Kennedy has about three or four months to really make or break his career. He can really go either way at this point. The fans want him on top but his wrestling needs a lot of touching up. Kennedy has the charisma and Mic ability to be a real player in the WWE. Again, this can go either way.

Orton appreciation is set. McMahon called Orton to the ring to have him sit on a pedestal and speak to all of the superstars which were on the stage. He said that he is the only wrestler that deserves the title and that everyone else is Jealous of him. McMahon demanded Triple H to be out there but he wouldn't come. Orton was told to go back and hunt him down. As Orton walked up the ramp. Shawn Michaels music hit and the Heartbreak Kid came out. He walked Orton back the ring and attacked him. He later hit the super kick and knocked Orton Cold. Michaels celebrated to end the show.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

This was a good show. I didn't have high expectations for it because it was coming off of a PPV but it truly delivered. Besides the normal meaningless side angles and skits, this show really meant something and hyped Cyber Sunday. The last angle was definitely saved by Michaels as it really didn't have anywhere else to go. Kennedy needs to have more matches like the one he had with Hardy tonight. It's going to be interesting to see how the WWE handles itself with the slum of injuries that they have to deal with.

TNA iMPACT 2 hour debut coverage

Yeah, they've done 2 hours before so debut is a pretty stupid thing to call this but well...you know.
Anyway, I'm back in the recapping chair for the first time since July for an episode of iMPACT. I'm not coming back to this perminently as I'm Michelle McCool and loving life too much for that but I am doing this broadcast to show everyone how little has changed.
If you've not read my recaps before, I don't do play-by-play. I just hit the high points or in the case of iMPACT, the low points.

TNA...We are, wasting my time!!!

Ok, opening video package cracks me up for 2 many reasons to list. 5 years ago, the dream that is TNA was born. Some people's dreams are other's nightmares. They "embrace every small accomplishment", well when that's all you've got.

Tonight, a new Era begins in TNA. Seriously, a New Era. An Era that is new. Newness, in the Era tonight. Brand new, Era, new, era, era, new, new era, era, new era?

Black Rain Vs. Rhino
Black Rain's hometown is the deepest darkest corner of his mind. I wonder how far that is from WCW Special Forces or the last house on the left?

Black Rain and Rhino is my second match choice to start off this show if I have it my way. Every other possible match in the company is tied for first.

Match starts at 8:06. This will become important, well never because nothing that happens on this show is important but I'll make note of this again.

Tenay, it is obvious that Mitchell has recruited Black Rain to his group. It isn't obvious to me, I've not been watching, so how about you telling me when this happened?

Don West almost said something smart when he said: "Black Rain's brain doesn't work", but then blew it by finishing with "like everyone else's".

Raven comes out to like watch the match or something, hell really it was just to be closer to the ring for his run-in.

Unintentionally hallarious video package aside, this new era kinda looks familiar.

Bound for Glory is TNA's premier PPV of the year, and we know this because all the gimmick matches. The selling point in that commercial? The women's championship gauntlet match. I'm thinking of a phrase that rhymes with grow flies to describe the number of purchases for this show.

We're back and Raven ran in but stuff happened and Rhino won so of course they double team. Match ends at 8:15, subtract 4 minutes or so of commercials and we got roughly a 5 minute match. Mew, good thing they had more time.

Raven and Rain doubleteam Rhino but then Abyss comes out, right as his music plays, to I guess warn Rain and Raven to his presence. James Mitchell comes out, then Havoc then like Art and Euan and Wade and Danger and Ric and Me and Steve Austin and Andre the Giant and Mark Madden and Sting!!

Nice to see Sting focused on his match with the Drunken Driver by helping Abyss. Angle shows up on the video screen, he drove to the school of sting's son to watch him play football. He's decided to have a few beers, chase them ith some pills and watch some football.

Angle's 3 I's return. Intoxication, Idiocy and involuntary vomitification. He's lucky they don't introduce his ass to the 4th I of Incarseration.

Ah, 6 minutes of stuff that happened for no explained reason and then more commercials. Can you see the difference in the new era? Can you, huh, huh, huh?

Angle is back. His interview sounded like this. Chug, chug, chug, beer, beer, ber, more beer!!! Drink!!! Varoom varoom!

Borash pimps TNA mobile then Guru and Machismo show up.Ok, Guru Sonjay Dutt is the greatest man alive.
Team 3-D attack the X-division stars from behind. They beat them down and then drag them to the ring. It is lucky that Jay Lethal isn't the reigning X-division champion ,because that would be embarrassing to the whole division. It would be even more embarrassing if the X-division champion had to be saved by Shark Boy in a neck brace. It is a good thing this is not happening.

Brother Ray starts speaking and in a related development I'm grabbing my dinner.
He says they're just going to beat guys until they get a title shot. Then they 3-d someone whom is called the X-division champion through a table. However, that can't possibly be right because with 2 hours the X-division will be given time to develop and treated with respect.

Backstage to Crystal and Sting. Sting starts yelling at some dude named Keith about ratings and headphones and satellites.

More people flip out on next week's TUF. Maybe Dana makes them watch TNA.

Sting says if Angle touches his son, he's going to pay. Angle says, hey, I just want to have a beer with the kid, chill out!! So Sting agrees but only if Kurt agrees to drive his son home when they're done.

It has now been 22 minutes since the last match ended and by last match, I mean first on the show. Thank God they got that second hour for longer wrestling. In this case, longer wrestling looks like a Robert Roode promo.

Robert Roode keeps yelling to Traci something about wanting the job.

Sweet Jesus and God and Mr. Dana McMahon. We just saw an argument between new interview girl nobody cares about, and old interview girl that nobody cares about. Yay for 2 hours!
Gail Kim Vs. Ms. Jackie Moore
It is 8:41 and the last match ended at 8:15. New Era!!!

James Storm is drinking beer, he must've stole it from Angle.

This match is a minute old and Roxie LaVeaux is already out to watch, or be closer for her run-in. Now Christy Hemme is coming out to like watch and stuff...no, just watch because a run-in would never happen on this show and especially not in 2 back-to-back matches.

Tenay says we need to get used to the 2 hours of iMPACT. I don't think that's possible.

Gail wins, and then Roxie attacks her from behind. Another post-match brawl? Really? Never saw that coming.

Backstage to JB with Cornette. Cornette gives 3-D the title match they want then warns them that what goes around comes around. Then Sting comes in and starts yelling and Cornette says he knew nothing about what Angle was doing. So, um, what did Cornette originally have planned for the time that Angle used to talk about football with sting's son? I'm thinking of awarding Cornette a humanitarian award for working with Russo for a year and not killing him. I'm also thinking of stripping him of the award for working with Russo a year and not killing him.

Back with Dufman at Garrett Bordon's football game. Sting threatens to go all Chris Benoit on Angle's ass, I'm not clear on what that means but it sounds family friendly enough.
Team 3-D Vs. Team Pacman - TNA Tag Team Champions
Well, it was only like 10 minutes between the end of the last match and the beginning of this one. Given the fact that Pacman is involved though, I wish it had been longer. Infinity sounds about right.
This will shock you, but Killings starts the match for his team. Eventually, Pacman is tagged in and Brother Ray engages in some stallification. A football is brought in to play and Pacman tosses it at the back of Ray's head. So help me, I'm kind of entertained by how they work around Pacman not being able to wrestle. I'm not entertained enough to enjoy it, but I am entertained.
So Pacman gets a chair and is about to hit Ray when VKM come out and pull Truth out of the ring for the DQ. That's 2 run-ins in 3 matches and then we get the third post-match brawl in 3 matches which is capped off by the return of the Steiners.

Winners: Team Pacman - DQ match went 6 minutes.

New Eras rule!

Raven interview, he's not washed up. He wants a match and Abyss is all like Monsters Ball, Biatch.
Gauntlet Match: A bunch of dudes.
Oh, I forgot this was even on this show.
Storm and Kaz start out. Apparently, all 10 men in this match will also be in fight for the right. A match so horrible I'm coming out of PPV recapping retirement to cover BFG. Robert Roode is third, Petey Williams is 4th.

Tenay says that Cornette has banned, Kim, Christy, Jackie and Roxie from interferring in this match. Yeah, got to nip those run-ins in the bud before they become an epedemic. Eric Young is 5th and it is like a Team Canada reunion here. Jimmy Rave is sixth and nobody's been eliminated yet as far as I care. Chris Sabin is 7th and it is too bad the Guns are going to be in the stupid reverse battle royal instead of a kick ass match against say XXX or LAX. Shelley is 8th and if a minute passed by between Sabin's entrence and his own, then Joe Scarola is no pussy. Williams and Rave are the first 2 eliminated. Hoyt is 9th. Hoyt eliminates Sabin, and Chris Harris is the last man in.

Crowd chants TNA for some reason that is foreign to me.

Roode is beating on Kaz outside the ring and arguing with Traci at the same time. I'm watching this shit and typing about this shit at the same time.

Chris Harris was eliminated during the break, but they did show it to us when we came back so we should be thankful for that. Roode and Young eliminate Lance Hoyt. Roode and Kaz are eliminated and it is James Storm and Eric Young to wrestle one-on-one to decide who wins this match.

I don't know what the winner gets and if I wanted a second to ponder it I didn't get it because the singles portion of this match lasted 30 seconds before Eric Young surprised Storm for the win.

A pointless segment involving Christian, Tomko and Styles airs. Tomko is headed to Japan, AJ was going to go as well, Christian says AJ has to stay. Christian asks Tomko to bring him some chopsticks while AJ wants a gui.
It takes effort, real effort for me not to crack up at Christian.

Back with a video package on Ultimate X. The Ultimate X remains the only gimmick match TNA has ever produced that I actually like.

Angle is back at the game and is hitting on random cheerleaders. She says, uh hey I need a blood test and he's like, dude never mind.

LAX's music is weird without the Konnan vocals. Junior Fatu's music is totally a Too Cool knockoff song. Samoa Joe's music got a remix as well.

The action starts off pretty good, I love AJ doing everything to avoid the Stinkface.

Back to the match with the heel side in control due to Elix Skipper's interference. Ah, interference I wish I could see more of you somehow.
They cut off Homicide who eventually recovers and makes the hot tag. It breaks down in to an 8 man brawl. Daniels gets the stinkface.
Just way too much stuff going on but this is one heck of a main event. It is almost like this one match is on a different show from the rest of the crap.
Samoa Joe muscle buster on Senshi and that's all she wrote.

My Thoughts: Interference in a vast majority of matches, a post-match brawl in 3 of 5 matches, some pointless backstage arguing between people nobody cares about, it still feels like an old Era to me.
However, I did like the Ultimate X package and the main event.
