Send News and Event Results

Fox Sports World Canada to broadcast event from Chicago from 9-11 p.m. ET/8-10 CT in addition to live MyNetworkTV broadcast in the United States from
9-10 p.m. ET

NEW YORK, October 31, 2007 - The International Fight League (OTC.BB: IFLI), the world's number one team-based professional mixed martial arts league,
and Alfred Haber Distribution (AHDI) today announced that Fox Sports World Canada will air this Saturday's "IFL World Grand Prix" live from the Sears
Centre in Chicago from 9-11 p.m. ET/8-10 CT. It will mark the first live national broadcast of MMA in Canada on broadcast television.

The first hour of the event, which will feature many of the rising stars of Mixed Martial Arts (including Canadians Chris Horodecki and Brent Beauparlant),
will also been seen live in the United States on MyNetworkTV. World champion "Bas" Rutten, Kenny Rice and Ron Kruck call all the action.

"We are very excited that Fox Sports World Canada and CanWest MediaWorks will be taking two hours of our event live to Canada," said IFL co-founder and
CEO Gareb Shamus. "Combined with our MyNetworkTV coverage in the United States, this will give us the largest possible North American platform to showcase
our great athletes live and in primetime on free television. Our goal for 2008 is to bring all of our events to the fans live on television, and this
is the latest step in achieving that goal."

Among the matchups featured on the broadcast will be the IFL light heavyweight title matchup between undefeated Vladimir "The Janitor" Matyushenko and
Alex Schoenauer, the lightweight rematch of undefeated Canadian phenom Chris "The Polish Hammer" Horodecki and Bart "Bartimus" Palaszewski, and Montreal
native Beauparlant against undefeated Benji "Razor" Radach. Nine fights, featuring the best individual athletes from the 11-event IFL season, will
be featured on the card.

Another change to the Welterweight bracket. Pat Healy is out of his scheduled bout against Jay Heiron on Saturday and will be replaced by Donnie Liles who fought for the IFL's San Jose Razorclaws during the season. Healy's withdrawl was due to an elbow injury.

I've lost track of how many different changes this tournament has undergone.

World champion coach Pat Miletich and team featured on ESPN’s E:60 show Tuesday, player signings and appearances with USO, Warner Home Video and Muscle
Milk all lead to first-ever live MMA event on broadcast primetime television on MyNetworkTV this Saturday from the Sears Centre

NEW YORK, October 29, 2007 – The International Fight League (OTC.BB: IFLI), the world’s number one team-based professional mixed martial arts league, will
hit the Chicago area hard with a week of partner activations and media activity, all leading up to Saturday night’s live broadcast on MyNetworkTV at the
Sears Centre in suburban Hoffman Estates, Ill., the first-ever live Mixed Martial Arts event on primetime broadcast television. The IFL “World Grand Prix,”
which will air on Saturday at 9 p.m. ET/PT, 8 p.m. CT, will feature the light heavyweight title fight between Vladimir “The Janitor” Matyushenko and Alex
Schoenauer, and a highly-anticipated rematch between undefeated lightweight Chris “The Polish Hammer” Horodecki and local favorite Bart “Bartimus” Palaszewski
among the nine bouts.

“This will be a big week, not just for the IFL, its coaches and athletes but also for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts,” said Gareb Shamus, IFL co-founder
and CEO. “Whether it is a lengthy national feature on a legend like Pat Miletich and his athletes on ESPN, our live broadcast on MyNetworkTV, or the activation
of sponsorships with partners like the USO, Warner Home Video and Muscle Milk, we are continuing to show that in just over a year the sport and the IFL
brand continues to make solid strides into the mainstream.”

The IFL visibility will begin on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT, when the new ESPN newsmagazine “E:60” takes an in-depth look at Quad Cities Silverbacks
coach Miletich, his Bettendorf, Iowa, gym and all the athletes that make up his camp. On Wednesday, the IFL, through its partnership with the USO, will
host a dinner and seminar for servicemen and women at the Great Lakes USO station. On Thursday, Miletich and local athletes Rory Markham and Palaszewski
will visit the General Nutrition Center store in downtown Chicago to sign autographs, while world champions Ken Shamrock and Carlos Newton and Matyushenko
will sign copies of WHV’s “IFL Great Knockouts and Extreme Action” at a downtown FYE. Later in the day, a suburban GNC will host a signing with world champion
Bas Rutten and stars Horodecki and Benji Radach.

All this will lead to Saturday’s card at the Sears Centre, which will showcase the best of the IFL’s nine-event regular season in each of five weight classes.

According to Sam Caplan the IFL has signed Seattle Tigersharks lightweight fighter Shad Lierley to a new contract. Lierley posted a 2-1 record for Maurice Smith's squad last season, his first in the league. His lone defeat was at the hands of Chris Horodecki in a bout held June 1. Rothwell, Whitehead out of IFL Grand Prix plus other changes

Send News

All of these are from Sam Caplan of ProElite

Ben Rothwell and Mike Whitehead have been pulled from the Nov. 3 tournament because neither has been signed to a 2008 IFL contract. The promotion had no interest in seeing 1 or both of them compete, win championships only to never defend them and jump to other organizations. The UFC also has a similar policy for not allowing fighters with one fight on their contract to fight for a championship.

Rothwell will be replaced by New York Pitbulls heavyweight Bryan Vetell. Vetell will take on Antoine Jaoude in 1 semifinal while Reese Andy will take on Roy Nelson in the other.

The Light Heavyweight Tournament has been paired down to 2 competitors. Whitehead being removed and Andre Gusmao suffering a foot injury and alternate Jamal Patterson unable to compete due to scheduling issues, the remaining 2 competitors will battle for the Light Heavyweight title on 11/3. They are Tokyo's Vladimir Matyushenko and L.A.'s Alex Schoenauer.

Three bouts from this event including the Shoenauer-Matyushenko fight and the Palaszewski-Horodecki fight have been earmarked for live TV on MyNetworkTV.

Shamrock/Razorclaws released from IFL

Send News

MMAWeekly.com reports that the IFL released Razorclaws coach Frank Shamrock as well as his team as the company attempts to revamp its current business model.

"They said they were going a different direction with their business,” stated the current Strikeforce and former Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight titleholder. “They're good people and they're a good company. They've got a hard road ahead of them. I'm still willing to help in any way because they treated me real good."

The only member of the Razorclaws not cut was Brian Foster who's fighting in IFL's upcoming Grand Prix and will be assigned to a new team.

IFL commissioner Kurt Otto recently stated that instead of expanding to 16 teams in 2008 the company would remain at 12 teams on the roster with the addition of Mario Sperry and Ian Freeman hired as coaches to build up new teams replacing two or three currrent ones.

Meanwhile, Shamrock plans to fight Renzo Gracie in April, have another fight in September and also his wife will be having a baby in May so his 2008 season seems to be busy already.

L.A. Boxing
on successive Saturdays in October in Southern California, Metro New York, and Chicagoland. IFL Coaches will conduct the sessions, which are open to
MMA athletes ages 18 and over with a minimum of one professional MMA bout to their credit, seeking potential spots on the 2008 IFL team rosters.

The Southern California session will take place on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the L.A. Boxing at 103 E. 17th St., Suite 1 in Costa Mesa, Calif. The following
Saturday, Oct. 20, the combine moves to the L.A. Boxing location at 300 Waverly Ave. in Mamaroneck, N.Y. The third and final session will be held on
Saturday, Oct. 27 at a location to be announced in Greater Chicago. Each session will run from 11:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., and each participant must bring his
own workout and protective gear.

The sessions will consist of sparring in the ring and grappling on the mats. Athletes will compete in one of five weight classes: 155 lbs., 170 lbs.,
185 lbs., 205 lbs., 265 lbs.

Participants may register online at
www.ifl.tv/Draft.html
or on site at the respective locations prior to the event date. Three to four IFL coaches will attend each session.

“Our coaches are always on the lookout for untapped talent, and from previous workouts we know there are many athletes looking for a chance to try out
for our teams,” said Kurt Otto, IFL Commissioner. “Additionally, we are pleased to be teaming with L.A. Boxing to maximize the quality of the sessions
and provide an outstanding environment for our coaches and participants.”

The IFL completed its 2007 team competition last week when Gracie’s New York Pitbulls topped Miletich’s Quad City Silverbacks, 3-2, in the IFL World Championship
Finals at Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Fla.

International Fight League Names Jay Larkin President And Chief Operating Officer

Former Showtime Executive Joins the World’s Number One Team-based Mixed Martial Arts League

NEW YORK, September 21, 2007 – The International Fight League (OTC.BB: IFLI), the world’s number one team-based professional mixed martial arts league,
today announced that longtime television executive, event producer and boxing industry icon Jay Larkin has been named to the newly-created position of
President and Chief Operating Officer. Larkin will report directly to IFL CEO Gareb Shamus and will oversee all the day-to-day operational details of the
IFL.

“Jay has been very helpful advising us in our first year and we are elated that he will be joining us in a larger full-time role as we enter our second
full season,” said Gareb Shamus, IFL co-founder and CEO. “Jay’s experience in the television, live event promotion, international television, entertainment
industry and corporate business worlds will be a huge plus not only to the IFL, but to the sport of Mixed Martial Arts both now and into the future.”

“I am very pleased to be able to join the IFL,” Larkin said. “Mixed Martial Arts is quickly becoming a mainstream sport with virtually limitless growth
potential as the fan demographic continues to expand. The IFL is perfectly positioned to take MMA to the next level and capitalize on the opportunities.”

Larkin spent over 20 years at media giant Showtime, rising to become one of the most powerful deal makers in sports and entertainment during his storied
career. He began at Showtime in 1984, and helped create countless entertainment specials involving stars ranging from Dave Chappelle, Britney Spears, The
Spice Girls and Jay-Z to legends like Frank Sinatra, Paul McCartney and The Rolling Stones among others for the network and pay per view.

During that time, the Brooklyn, N.Y., native also oversaw the channel’s entrance into boxing, beginning in 1986 with Marvelous Marvin Hagler's middleweight
title defense against John Mugabi, thus creating the powerhouse Showtime Championship Boxing. He negotiated the deals and was the executive producer of
some of boxing’s most legendary matchups of the last quarter century, including numerous Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and Julio Cesar Chavez fights.
Larkin also was one of the key negotiators for what was the biggest money fight in history, the 2002 heavyweight championship bout between Lennox Lewis
and Tyson that happened because of a landmark deal between Showtime (Tyson's network) and rival HBO (Lewis' network).

Just before leaving Showtime, Larkin put together Ricky Hatton vs. Kostya Tszyu and Joe Calzaghe vs. Jeff Lacy, two career-changing events for both Hatton
and Calzaghe. Just prior to joining the IFL, he completed negotiations for the upcoming blockbuster match of Calzaghe and Mikkel Kessler for HBO and Sports
Network.

His multi-faceted career includes an extensive background in live theater. Larkin attended the Boston Conservatory of Music; the UCLA School of Theater,
Film and Television, and received a degree in theater and directing from C.W. Post College of Long Island University. He has been nominated for a primetime
Emmy Award, a Tony Award and is a recipient of the prestigious boxing industry Taub Award for excellence in broadcasting journalism from the Boxing Writers
Association of America.

IFL Championship Series: Preview and Predictions

Send News

Welcome to my preview for the IFL Championship Series between the New York Pitbulls and the Iowa Silverbacks. New York, coached by Renzo Gracie, went 3-0 in the season and defeated Tokyo in the Semifinals. Pat Miletich’s Iowa went 2-1 in the regular season and avenged their loss defeating Los Angeles’ Anacondas in the Semifinals.

If this preview seems rushed or below normal quality it is because I’m very tired while writing it. I also am less familiar with most of the guys fighting than I am for a typical UFC card. However, I brought my 1979 quarter with me and judging by the beating it gave me on Fight Night 11, it will probably have a few things to teach me here.

Lightweight Bout:
Bart Palaszewski: 24, 5’9, 155, 28-8-0 (Iowa)
Vs.
Devidas Taurosevicius: 30, 5’9, 155, 8-2-0 (New York)
Palaszewski is one of the top Lightweight’s in the entire IFL and seaded third in the upcoming grand prix. Deividas Taurosevicius replaced Erik Owings on the Pitbulls for their series with Tokyo and got New York a key victory over the Sabers’ Savant Young.
Palaszewski only has one blemish on his IFL record and that is to L.A.’s Chris Horodecki. The experience both in MMA and in IFL competition lies with Palaszewski. He’s a very well-rounded fighter and I may be short changing Taurosevicius but it is because I don’t know him as well. I’m taking Palaszewski to win.
Winner: Bart Palaszewski
Coin Picks: Deividas Taurosevicius

Welterweight Bout:
Jake Ellenberger: 5’10, 170, 15-2-0 (Iowa)
Vs.
Delson “Pe De Chumbo” Heleno: 29, 5’11, 170, 11-3-0 (New York}
Heleno is ranked #1 in the IFL at Welterweight in their upcoming Grand Prix. Of course, Heleno is also coming off a decision loss to Antonio McKee in the IFL Semifinals back in August.
Ellenberger has competed in Bodog and is a substitute for regular Silverbacks competitor Rory Markham.
Heleno’s Jiu-jitsu is pretty good but then you can say that about many who were taught by a Gracie. I don’t know much about Ellenberger but his winning this bout would be an upset of large proportions and there just aren’t as many of those in the IFL as in the UFC.
Winner: Delson Heleno
Coin Picks: Delson Heleno

Middleweight Bout:
Ryan McGivern: 27, 6’0, 185, 10-5-0 (Iowa)
Vs.
Fabio Leopoldo: 30, 6’0, 185, 5-2-0 (New York)
These 2 have met before way back on 09/23 of 2006. In that fight, McGivern was submitted by Leopoldo’s kneebar in the second round.
While the conventional wisdom would be to predict a repeat victory for Leopoldo and while it is possible, McGivern has improved a lot since then and is one of the promotions better Middleweights. I’m here to prodict an avenging of the prior loss by McGivern.
Winner: Ryan McGivern
Coin Picks: Ryan McGivern

Light Heavyweight Bout:
”Mike C” Mike Ciesnolevicz: 27, 6’0, 205, 13-2-0 (Iowa)
Vs.
Andre Gusmao: 6’2, 205, 4-0-0 (New York)
Another match that was originally contested on 09/23 of last year. In that contest Andre Gusmao was the victor in that fight. Gusmao and Jamal Patterson have been splitting time as New York’s Light Heavyweight fighter but Gusmao has amassed a 3-0 record in the IFL thus far.
You want to know why Iowa is contending for another championship and looking to win it in back-to-back seasons? It is because you can pretty much make the statement that all 5 of their guys are in the top or close to it of their respective weight classes. Ciesnolevicz is no different. He had a setback against Alex Schoenauer in the first match of the Silverbacks’ season but was able to take the rematch in the IFL Semifinals. He just keeps getting better and better every time he fights. I think he’s out to prove something and I’m going to project a win for him.
Winner: Mike Ciesnolevicz
Coin Picks: Andre Gusmao

Heavyweight Bout:
”The North Star” Ben Rothwell: 25, 6’5, 265, 26-5-0 (Iowa)
Vs.
Ricco "Swav" Rodriguez: 30, 6’4, 250, 26-6-0 (New York)
Rodriguez is a former UFC heavyweight champion brought in at the last second to replace Tom Sauer who was a replacement for Bryan Vetell. Rodriguez is a talented if disappointing fighter who has had issues with his weight in the past.
Rothwell is the top sead in the Heavyweight grand prix to be contested in November. A criticism of Rothwell is that he’s not facing a lot of tough competition because the IFL’s Heavyweight Division is so thin. Rothwell is just a big powerful guy though and perhaps has earned the description of a man among boys when it comes to the IFL. Rothwell is going to face his toughest test to date in the promotion in Rodriguez. If the right Ricco Rodriguez shows up then Rothwell could have a tough time. If the lazy Rodriguez shows up Rothwell should win easily. I’m taking Rothwell because you just don’t know what you’re going to get from Ricco these days.
Winner: Ben Rothwell
Coin Picks: Ben Rothwell
I’ll keep the prelims short and sweet…

Lightweight Bout:
Ryan “The Lion” Schultz: 5’10, 155, 16-9-1
Vs.
Aaron Riley: 5’9, 155, 23-9-1
I’ll take Riley.
Winner: Aaron Riley
Coin Picks: Aaron Riley

Welterweight Bout:
”Bad” Brad Blackburn: 30, 5’10, 170, 10-9-0
Vs.
Travis Cox: 170, 4-4-0
I’m vaguely familiar with Blackburn and know nothing about Cox.
Winner: Brad Blackburn
Coin Picks: Brad Blackburn

Light Heavyweight Bout:
Jamal “The Suit” Patterson: 6’0, 205, 3-1-0
Vs.
Chris Baten: 27, 6’0, 205, 5-2-0
Experience lies slightly in Baten’s favor but I’m more familiar with Patterson having seen him fight on a few episodes of Battleground.
Winner: Jamal Patterson
Coin Picks: Chris Baten

Heavyweight Bout: Rolles Gracie: 6’4, 265, 0-0-0 Vs.
Sam Holloway: 6’4, 265, 4-0-0
Gracie is making his debut but because he’s a Gracie I think he’ll be prepared. I’ve had good luck predicting victories for guys making their debuts lately so…
Winner: Rolles Gracie
Coin Picks: Sam Holloway
