At the Funking Conservatory we are coed and have been blessed with some of the most dedicated, athletic, qualified and beautiful women in wrestling.

It all began with our first edition of the Funking Conservatory wrestling training camp when Lita came to train with 16 other wrestlers. Lita proved herself
winning our 17 person inter-gender battle royal (16 men and 1 woman) surprising "The Largest Man on the Planet" on the end of the battle royal. Lita
became a three time WWE Women's Champion.

Mickie James attended the Funking Conservatory and was willing to work hard in the training camp and spent extra time working on a photo portfolio with
!BANG! TV producer Marti Funk. Mickie James has gone on to become a four time WWE Women's Champion.

The Claw, Claudia Reiff is a graduate of Miami University where she graduated with a degree in Physical Education and officiated basketball at the university
level. The Claw is a five time Funking Conservatory Women's Champion. The Claw will be challenging "The Rocket" Kim Dakota for the Funking Conservatory
women's championship this weekend at Support the Troops 20, "The Great Big Show."

One half of the Pop Tarts, "The Rocket," Kim Dakota is a two time Funking Conservatory Women's Champion and will be defending her championship this weekend
at Support the Troops 20, "The Great Big Show."

The other half of the Pop Tarts, Vikki Von is a former Funking Conservatory Women's Champion who keeps herself in excellent condition. Vikki Von has a
quick mouth and a biting sense of humor.

Gail Kim is a frequent participant on !BANG! TV and has just recently become the first ever TNA Women's Champion winning the "Gauntlet Match" over ten
other competitors.

Sandii Skye is the "Super Model" Valet for Flyin' Ryan "Air" Mitchell. Both will be appearing on this Sunday's !BANG! TV Taping of Support the Troops
20, "The Great Big Show."

Dory Funk Jr. is more comfortable busting heads in a wrestling ring than sizing up designer gowns in a museum.

"Dresses? I don't know much about dresses," says the wrestling legend who lives in Ocala. When asked his favorite color gown, Funk cracked, "pink."

"Look," Funk added. "I weigh over 230 pounds and I like to wrestle. The kind of dress that would appeal to me would be a big one. Something that would cover me - like a robe.

Funk, like many men in Marion County, Florida, is about to see some of the world's most famous gowns, up close and personal. This Sunday, the "Diana Princess of Wales: Dress for a Cause" exhibit opens, and runs through December 30 at the Appleton Museum of Art. It features designer gowns worn by Princess Di and also her personal mementoes.

The Diana Exhibit is for a cause we all should support, breast cancer.

Funk's Corner - New Programs Offered at the Funking Conservatory

With the opening of our new 8000 square foot training facility, we are offering new programs. In addition to professional wrestling we are offering supplemental programs in Amateur Wrestling and Mixed Martial Arts or more known as MMA.

These programs are optional and are integrated with our professional wrestling training program.

Yesterday, Tuesday October 2nd marked our first training session in the new facility. Included in the building is our state of the art professional ring, a six sided mixed martial arts ring, multiple amateur wrestling mats, a huge video screen, seating for 300 people in comfort and even a snack bar serving hot food and drinks.

Now on our website we have the first photo of the new Funking Conservatory Training Center. We have a lot of work to do which will be completed well in advance of our first !BANG! TV Taping.

Our first show is October 28th " The Great Big Show"
with special Guest Rocky Johnson. Rocky's son, Dwayne Johnson has the #1 HIT MOVIE "The Game Plan". It is brilliant and Funny and a good fun night out for the whole Family.

The Funking Conservatory Wrestling School is now in a new 10,000 foot training facility with a Sound Stage for !BANG! TV video production.

The entire arena comes with air-conditioning and heat to insure comfort year round for our athletes in training.

The Funking Conservatory is still located at 2200 NE 36th Avenue in Ocala, Florida however we are in a new building located at the same address.

Coming soon on our website we will have a virtual tour of the new facility.

At the Funking Conservatory we are also expanding our program to include amateur wrestling and mixed martial arts.

Our next !BANG! TV Taping, Sunday October 28th will emanate from our new !BANG! TV sound stage. Making special appearances will be the Father of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Rocky Johnson and former NWA World Champion, Jack Brisco.

As NWA World Champion for 4 1/2 years in the early 70's I frequently traveled to the Florida Territory working for Eddie Graham. The major cities were Tampa, Orlando, Miami, West Palm Beach, Jacksonville, St. Petersburg and Tallahassee or Sarasota.

Eddie always went out of his way to book different shows in each city to give the wrestling fans a variety of different combinations. In most cases I would have two matches against Jack Brisco one on each end of the state.

Upon arriving at the Tampa Airport I grabbed a taxi to the Sportatorium on 106 North Albany where Eddie's office was on the second floor.

As I entered the Sportatorium I spoke to the keeper of the gate Charley Lay who said Eddie was in his office upstairs.

Even though he was an immaculate dresser in public, in his office, Eddie always wore open shirt casual dress and never turned the air conditioner on.

Many a young wrestler trying to impress one of the most powerful men in professional wrestling would dress to the hilt (Suit and Tie) for a meeting with Eddie Graham in his office at the Sportatorium.

Eddie would throw the tough questions about their wrestling background and watch as they melted and dripped perspiration as they tried their best to impress.

I entered Eddie's office wearing a light casual collared shirt.

Eddie said, "I have put a lot of thought to who you are working with this week and when I tell you, you are going to think I haven't put any thought into it at all. You are working with Jack Brisco every night. It is the match the wrestling fans want to see and we are going to give them what they want."

All week long it was standing room only for Dory Funk Jr. vs Jack Brisco for the NWA World Championship.

Jack Brisco will be in attendance at our next !BANG! TV Taping, Support the Troops 20, "Funking Fall Fight," Sunday September 30th.

In the wake of the Chris Benoit situation, Ocala Star Banner TV came to Dory Funk Jr. at the Funking Conservatory to ask about how important safety is in professional wrestling. Luciano Pavarotti who took Opera from the stage to the stadium passed away today.

Funk's Corner - Two New Champions at the Funking Conservatory

Two major title changes took place at last night's !BANG! TV Taping, Support the Troops 19, Hard Labor.

In the Women's three way championship match, Kim Dakota won when Claudia "The Claw" Reiff reached for the back of Vicki Von's hot pants and pulled them down to her ankles. The startled Vicki Von completely lost her balance and composure, then fell victim to a reverse cradle by Kim Dakota.

In the "Dirtiest Player in the Game" match, Cowboy Cory Squires used the "Rock Bottom" to put away Johnny Romano after an eye gouge, hair pull, bite to the fingers, low blow and outside interference by Blain Rage.

In an action packed match that would have amazed Jackie Chan, Flyin' Ryan "Air" Mitchell with Sandii Skye retained the Florida Championship belt with a victory over Elvis Sharp with the Pop Tarts, Kim Dakota and Vicki Von when the Pop Tarts distracted Elvis by fighting among themselves instead of taking care of Elvis. Flyin' Ryan took advantage of the situation winning with a Super Kick to the chin.

In a !BANG! TV Championship match, Blain Rage with the Pop Tarts in his corner won over former ECW wrestler, Hack Myers when Vicki Von caught the HackMan with a low blow from left field followed up with Blain Rage's finishing mover, the "Face Buster."

In the main event of the night, a Lumberjack rules match for the Funking Conservatory World hampionship, Shane Chung earned a stolen victory over Johnny Magnum when after two attempts to hold Magnum's shoulders to the mat, Shane got additional leverage with both feet on the second rope unbeknown to the referee yet in front of all the wrestling fans and lumberjacks. to get the pin ball and the Funking Conservatory World Championship belt.

As a result of the controversial ending, After the match was over, a spontaneous battle royal broke out between the lumberjacks and participants, Johnny Magnum and Shane Chung that ended in a combination pier six brawl and a five way catfight that culminated in Johnny Magnum stomping a mudhole in Cowboy Cory Squire's cowboy hat.

"There is only one thing you don't have here in Australia. You have no heroes. No role models for your children and young people to look up to."

"I, The Great Malenko will fill the emptiness you all have here in Australia. I will be your hero."

As I listened to Boris Malenko do the interview for network television out of Sydney, Australia, I thought, "What a great way to get the heat as a heel and not have to put the country or the people down."

Boris Malenko was one of the greatest heels on interviews I have seen. He was also a box office attraction for Eddie Graham in the Florida Territory. Boris Malenko was the originator of the Russian Chain match.

Boris Malenko's chain used in a match in Florida with Eddie Graham was actually shipped from Florida to the Amarillo Territory and used in the first ever Russian Chain Match in the Amarillo Territory between Dory Funk Sr. and Iron Mike Dibiase.

Boris Malenko (Larry Simon) had two sons who followed his footsteps in professional wrestling, Dean and Joe Malenko.

Dory Funk Jr. appeared on the evening WESH 2 news NBC Affiliate out of Orlando in an interview with Wendy Chioji that was broadcast nationally. Coach Funk talked about professional wrestling and what it takes to make it in the wrestling business without using illegal performance enhancing drugs.

Congressman Cliff Stearns will be visiting the Funking Conservatory Wrestling School in Ocala, Florida at 10:00AM Friday Morning. Congressman Stearns is concerned that millions of children and young adults see professional wrestlers as role models.

According to Coach Funk, at the Funking Conservatory we are going show Congressman Stearns that professional wrestling is fun, and requires an extensive amount of skill and training.

Friday August 17th at 10:00AM, Congressman Cliff Stearns will be at the Funking Conservatory wrestling school in Ocala, Florida. Congressman Stearns will be observing our professional wrestling training program. Congressman Stearns is in prime physical condition and has been invited to participate in our wrestling drills.

Congressman Stearns has called on the House Energy & Commerce Committee to investigate allegations of rampant steroid use in professional wrestling. Congressman Stearns said, “Millions of young wrestling fans, for better or for worse, look up to professional wrestlers as role models.”

“The Anabolic Steroid Act of 1990 makes it a felony to use and distribute these drugs. Congress needs to investigate the recent events and find out how big of a problem steroid use is in professional wrestling.”

At the Funking Conservatory we welcome Congressman Stearns to a wrestling training program where safety of the athletes is our highest priority. The leadership of our program is also acutely aware that Millions of young wrestling fans look up to professional wrestlers as role models.

Vickii Von wrestles at the Funking Conservatory as one half of the "Pop Tarts," Her heroes in professional wrestling are Randy Orton, James Storm, John Cena, Micki James and Lita.

Much as was the case with Micki and Lita, Vickii Von works and trains hard and asks no favors in the tough schedule of the Funking Conservatory.

Vickii trains daily, in the morning, swimming laps, along with 2 weight workouts aday, 5 days a week and 6 days a week in the ring training and performing her skills in the ring as 1/2 of !BANG! TV's Faburlous "Pop Tarts" along with fellow Champion Tag Team partner, Lady Kimberly.

For the second show in a row, the Funking Conservatory's !BANG! TV Taping started early because the house was already "Standing Room Only." This time it was twenty minutes early as the scheduled 7:00pm show started at 6:40.

In the first match a three way for the Women's Championship between The "Pop Tarts" Lady Kimberly and (Champion) Miss Vicki and The Claw, Claudia Reiff with special guest referee, Cowboy James Storm, Miss Vicki Retained her women's championship with a controversial quick count by James Storm who seemed to be under the influence of Miss Vicki during and after the match.

We have a new Florida Heavyweight Champion as Flyin' Ryan' "Air" Mitchell with Sandii Skye won over the Champion, Blain Rage when "Air" Mitchell feigned unconsciousness to catch Blain Rage off balance catching him in a Half Nelson Cradle for the three count becoming the new Florida Champion. This makes "Air" Mitchell a Triple Crown Champion, Florida Champion, Tag Team Champion and International Champion.

In a three way European Championship Match between the Champion, Elvis Sharp, Cory Squires and Mario Benedetti, Elvis Sharp retained his European Championship when Mario Benedetti double crossed Cory Squires enabling Elvis to hit his finishing move the "Fall From Graceland."

Defending his International Championship Belt, Flyin' Ryan "Air" Mitchell the reigning Triple Crown Champion faced Italy's Il Marchese with La Contessa. Il Marchese used a distraction of the referee by La Contessa to allow him to ram the butt of his whip into the throat of "Air Mitchell, then cover Air Mitchell for the win. After the match Sandii Skye and La Contessa got into an affray that nearly got out of hand before they were separated by "Air Mitchell and Il Marchese.

In the final match of the night, a Three Way Tag Team Championship match between the Champions, Flyin' Ryan "Air" Mitchell and Elvis Sharp vs Johnny Magnum and Shane Chung vs Cowboy James Storm and Blain Rage. Cowboy James Storm was disqualified when he outrageously body slammed the referee, Claudia "The Claw" Reiff. Since the match was held under NWA Texas rules, the belts did not change hands on a disqualification. The night ended with an inter-gender "Pier Six Brawl followed by a Five Girl Cat Fight and then Dory Funk Jr. knocking Cowboy James Storm on his ass with his special uppercut forearm blow.

To top it all off, Johnny Magnum followed Blain Rage outside and threw him upside down against the building.

In addition to wrestling on Support the Troops 18, Fight for Freedom on the Funking Conservatory's !BANG! TV Cowboy James Storm has been named special Guest Referee for the Three Way Women's Championship Match between The Claw, Claudia Reiff and the "Pop Tarts," Lady Kimberly and the Champion, Miss Vicki.

These ladies have been hard to control and their wrestling matches have turned in to a "Pier Six Brawl." Cowboy James Storm is just the person to keep this Women's Championship Match under control.

Cowboy James Storm will also be teaming with Blain Rage to face Johnny Magnum and Shane Chung in a tag team championship match.

Also appearing on the card are Dory Funk Jr., Father James Mitchell, Italy's Il Marchese (The Mystro) with the Contessa, Flyin' Ryan "Air" Mitchell, with Sandii Skye, Elvis Sharp, England's Mario Benedetti, Cory Squires and more.

Support the Troops 18, Fight for Freedom will take place Sunday July 29th at the Funking Conservatory Wrestling School in Ocala, Florida. Showtime is 7:00pm and doors open at 6:30. In the latest !BANG! TV Webbie, Blain Rage stiffens up on a young trainee (Mario Benedetti of the UK) in a training match officiated by The Claw. Blain Rage then faces the wrath of Dory Funk Jr. and is sent to the dressing room for picking on someone with less experience.

An inconsiderate Blain Rage has some insulting words for The Pop Tart's Lady Kimberly then asks something about a sandwich. Lady Kimberly tells Blain Rage in no uncertain terms just where He can stick the sandwich.

Unbelievably, Blain finds his way to Dory Funk Jr.'s dressing area where he places a porno 900 call on Coach Funk's cell phone to the tune of $5.00 plus a minute.

Blain's phone call is interrupted by newcomer Cory Squires who has some admiration for Blain's wrestling skills. They make friends and as a token of their friendship, Blain Rage gives Cory Squires a present to confirm their friendship, Coach Funk's cowboy had and $2,500.00 Lucchese Classic Alligator cowboy boots.

As coach Funk enters the scene he is met by an apologetic Blain Rage then Coach Funk sees Cory Squires wearing his cowboy hat and cowboy boots.
