UFC 78 'Validation' takes place on Saturday, Nov. 17 and is headlined by Rashad Evans Vs. Michael Bisping in a Light Heavyweight bout. Houston Alexander Vs. Thiago Silva, and Ryo Chonan Vs. Karo Parisyan are also featured attractions. The televised card is rounded out by Ed Herman Vs. David Terrell and Spencer Fisher Vs. Frankie Edgar.

Changes to UFC 78 'Validation'

UFC has failed in their efforts to get a working visa for Hector Lombard so the match with he and Karo Parisyan is off.

Parisyan will now take on Ryo Chonan who was scheduled to face Thiago Alves in a non-televised bout. Alves will instead face Chris Lytle.

Watch Joe Lauzon train for his upcoming fight at UFC 78

Joe Lauzon, a cast member from season 5 of the Ultimate Fighter, has recently moved to Hawaii to train with his coach on the show BJ Penn.

Lauzon has a fight at UFC 78 against Jason Reinhardt and there is video of his training at BJ Penn's official site.

Lombard out of match with Parisyan at UFC 78

This is according to Lombard himself in an interview with Sherdog.

He has been Denied entry in to the United States due to only having a Cuban passport. Lombard's being unable to enter the country makes it that much more difficult to fight Karo Parisyan on 11/18.

I'm now thinking that even though this card has some intriguing matchups, that it is cursed.

Marcus Aurelio to face Luke Caudillo at UFC 78 'Validation'

Just like the last bit of news, this also comes from Sam Caplan

Both of these men are looking for their first victory in the UFC. Caudillo debuted at UFC Fight Night 10 back on 6/12 losing via Unanimous decision to Nate Mohr. Aurelio debuted at UFC 74 and dropped a split decision contest to Clay Guida in a fight that was sadly not televised.

UFC 78 'Validation' takes place on 11/17 in Newark, NJ and this is the card.

Houston Alexander to fight at UFC 78

Yay, son! Alexander, 2-0 in the UFC with victories over Keith Jardine and Alessio Sakara will make his third appearance in the Octagon on 11/17 in Newark, New Jersey.
His opponent is also 2-0 in the UFC with victories over James Irvin at UFC 71 and Thomas Drwal at UFC 75 and that is Thiago Silva.

There is no way this is not going to be televised.

Ultimate Fighter winners to battle at UFC 78 'Validation'

UFC announced today that Rashad Evans, winner of the Ultimate Fighter's second season will take on Michael Bisping winner of the Ultimate Fighter's third season in a Light Heavyweight contest on 11/17 in Newark, New Jersey.

There was talk that Evans would face Tito Ortiz in a rematch of their UFC 73 bout but that did not come to pass.

I mentioned the other day that on Inside the Cage Radio with Matt Cava of UFC Takedown and Sam Caplan of Five Ounces of Pain Frankie Edgar confirmed a fight for UFC 78 with Spencer Fisher. That should be a fun bout in front of a hometown crowd for Edgar.

Frank Edgar Vs. Spencer Fisher at UFC 78

That's according to Edgar in a conversation for Inside the Cage Radio, a joint venture of UFCTakedown.com and Sam Caplan's 5 Ounces of Pain.com

and I agree with Caplan that if this isn't televised its a crime. Edgar who is 2-0 in the UFC will be fighting in front of a home crowd and his fight with Tyson Griffin was one of the best of the year.

Spencer Fisher was to face Din Thomas at Fight Night 11 on 09/19 but pulled out with a staff infection.

If this goes down, I'll be more jealous of Art should he end up attending this show as is tentatively planned.
