Pacman's spit is worth $1.5 million

Send News and Event Results

That's how much he's being sued for in a case stemming back from a night club incident in Octoberof 2006 The criminal case against him from the spitting incident was thrown out bya judge months ago.

In the article, thewoman's attorney mentions that his client hasbeen insulted by people who say thatnext he's going to slam her because he's a wrestler now.

She and I have something in common then. We were both insulted as a result of Pacman's wrestling involvement

Tommy Urbanski sues Tennessee Titans, National Football League

Send News and Event Results

Tommy Urbanski the former wrestler who was parolized fin a Las Vegas shooting that was supposedly insited by an incident involving former TNA tag team champion Adam "Pacman" Jones is suing the Tennesse Titans, the employer of Jones and the National Football League. You can read about it here and I must say I agree with the take of Pro football talk which is that someone should be held accountable for what happened but the NFL and the Tennessee Titans probably aren't that someone. Adam Jones is a grown man and it isn't as though his employers are obligated to monitor his behavior 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

TNA Gets A Packman Plug On HBO

Send News

Courtesy of Adam Lebow

Was just watching Inside the NFL on HBO and in their parting shots segment they brought up the fact that Packman Jones has said he is ready to be reinstated into the NFL. Bob Costas, who was the one talking about this, said that all that Packman has done is "win the Total Nonstop Action wrestling tag team championship title" and to paraphrase, he went onto say that unless Packman belives that winning the tag team title is giving back to the community, he should not be reinstated into the NFL.

Hey, good or bad, at least TNA got mentioned by name...

Pacman rewards good behavior with bad wrestling

Send News

Adam "Pacman" Jones has purchased 1500 tickets for Bound for Glory to be given to Fulton County students as reward for good grades.

After they see the show, I wonder how many of those kids will flunk out next semester for fear of being rewarded with more TNA tickets?

In all seriousness though, this is a decent thing for Pacman to do or it is compared to some of the other stuff he has done.

What do you want to bet that this is a topic on tomorrow's audio show?

Sure, this has nothing to do with combat sports, at least not that I'm aware of but if Vince Russo is ever fired from TNA this guy would be an upgrade

Maybe I should have this dude sue last week's wrestling shows for sucking much cock.

There is a connection to combat sports I guess, I found this link over at Pro Football Talk when reading about the next Pacman Jones problem which is I guess some woman suing him in Vegas.

Yay for TNA's biggest money maker.

Update on the condition of Adam "Pacman" Jones, (still an ass)

Road to No Surrender begins and we know Abyss will get the first shot at the golden boy. (I'll bet he doesn't)

Pacman's big adventure
Jones aided by 'cops' in made-for-TV wrestling debut

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Adam "Pacman" Jones ended up surrounded by police Sunday night. This time they were actors trying to help the suspended cornerback, though they couldn't stop him from being allegedly "attacked."

Not a finger was laid on Jones on-camera Sunday at the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling event, but several were awfully close. A wrestler rushed the stage after jawing with Jones, but four actors with police clothing tackled him just out of reach.

Minutes later, the studio television screens flashed to Jones backstage, lying on the ground after being purportedly attacked.

The Tennessee Titans got a court order prohibiting Jones from participating in any wrestling activity after he promised in a taped segment Thursday on TNA's weekly Spike TV show to appear.

Jones, the team and TNA reached an agreement Friday allowing him to perform -- under extensive stipulation. He could not touch or be touched, grapple, shove, throw or have anything thrown at him by anyone working for or watching the show.

The Titans did not immediately return phone messages late Sunday night.

Jones didn't show until several hours into the event, emerging through a tunnel to laser lights and fireworks. The announcer called him the most controversial man in professional sports today, and Jones spurned his try for a handshake.

Jones has been suspended from the NFL for the 2007 season for violating the league's personal conduct policy by being arrested six times. Police records for various incidents in Tennessee and Georgia show five different arrests for the former first-round draft pick.

His sixth arrest came in June when he was booked by Las Vegas police in the most serious case. He is under indictment there on two felony counts of coercion stemming from a February fight at a strip club that left a bouncer, a former wrestler himself, paralyzed.

Jones' in-ring appearance lasted about 10 minutes. He wore black trunks, a sweat shirt and shirt reading "Pacman" that featured characters from the video game. Some of the roughly 1,000 watching in the Universal Orlando broadcast studio booed, but others seemed to be on his side. Admission for them is free, but the pay-per-view event cost $29.99.

TNA said it wouldn't immediately know how Jones' involvement affected sales.

Jones paced the ring and scowled, then picked up the microphone. He said he always dreamed of wrestling when the announcer asked why he came. The interviewer seemed surprised by his short response, then asked what Jones' goal was.

"To show the world that I am the best team player that ever lived," he said, repeating a statement from earlier this week.

Jones turned around as wrestler Ron "The Truth" Killings appeared with a beef. The two jawed some from 20 yards apart.

"You know what sickens me? You say something about being a team player? A team player? Allow me to welcome you to the snake pit," Killings said. "You see, Pacman, professional wrestling is not a team sport."

Killings said in an expletive-marked tirade that several wrestlers were in line to take Jones down, and it was bad luck he couldn't fight.

"You talk a lot, know what I'm saying," Jones said. "You talk a lot. But one thing about me, I don't talk the talk, I walk the walk."

Killings then rushed to the ring before being tackled.

"This ain't what you want anyway. You act like this is what you want but this ain't what you want," Jones said as Killings was led away by four "policemen." Jones strutted in the ring, then hopped out.

There was no word from Jones after the video of police trying to help him.

TNA said Jones would not speak with reporters, but might issue a statement later.

Titans, Pacman Jones reach agreement regarding TNA participation

Send News

This according to ESPN and it basically allows him to be at the PPV but doesn't allow him to do anything physical. So it renders his appearances in TNA even more pointless than they were before and here I had thought we'd hit rock bottom in that regard.

I still expect him to be put over the whole roster even if he's unable to wrestle.

BTW, a lot of our traffic the past day or so has been because of Pacman. So at least someone, I.E. us, benefits from all this.

Nothing says how smart you are better than publicly stating you're going to ignore a restraining order

Want a perfect way to help professional wrestling's image?

How about signing a NFL player suspended for repeated arrests, including charges of a Las Vegas brawl that resulted in a bouncer being permenantly paralyzed?

Nope, you won't be seeing him at Summerslam or on RAW tonight... Vince McMahon and the WWE aren't responsible.

As many of you have read, Dave Meltzer reported last Monday that suspended NFL player Adam "Pacman" Jones will shortly sign a short-term deal with TNA according to Channel 5 news in Nashville. TNA had not wanted the news out until Jeff Jarrett returned last Tuesday from an international business trip.

For those who don't know, "Pacman" was suspended by the NFL for his link to repeated bruishes with the law, including the Las Vegas strip club shooting earlier this year in which former AWA wrestler AWA pro wrestler Tom Urbanski was turned into a paraplegic.

Want more? How about the fact that Adam "Pacman" Jones and Chris Benoit's doctor, Dr. Phil Astin, under indictment for illegal prescription of drugs have the same criminal defense attorney, Many Arora?

If that isn't enough for you in the Really Stupid Judgment Department, how about having an angle where an...er... "extremely muscular wrestler" has a fight with his wife? Remind you of anything or anyone we've been reading about recently?

TNA shot an angle at last week's TV taping where Kurt Angle variously accused real-life wife Karen (who was there in the skits playing along) of: "checking out Kevin Nash's package"; having a "marital counseling session" with Dr. Kevin Nash; and still another skit where Karen Angle is brought out in front of the IMPACT crowd to "explain to the fans and home viewers just who Kurt Angle really is" in which Angle tell the crowd that "it must be difficult to live in his shadow but wanted Karen to tell the people what it is like living with him". Karen Angle finally responds claiming "living with Kurt for 12 years has been pure hell".

Yup....I'd REALLY want to be hiring a felon who nearly killed someone, not to mention turning Kurt Angle in storyline into a reminder of someone who really DID kill his wife and son to be exact.

Then, there's Vince McMahon doing his best impression of Bobby Ewing. Or, to put it another way, Mister McMahon was dead...but he's better now.

After the announced disastrous 2.5 rating (later claimed to have been a mistake...funny that was only figured out after days, and after RAW's ratings were bad), Vince McMahon decided to resurrect himself from the dead with WWE.com announcing his return on tonight's RAW. Forget the fact that his character was seen getting into a car that exploded, with no possible means of escape, and was incinerated. Ratings are low and the only one who can save things is, apparently, Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

In something far more positive, Georgie Makropoulos asked me to get out the news about this event, which is a fundraiser for ovarian cancer.

PacMan Jones' signing with TNA covered by mainstream news outlets

This story is just one example.
I'll have my say on the Combat Hooligans show episode 3 which will be taped tomorrow. Between this and Bob Arum, you can expect rage from me.

Basically, he'll be on this week's iMPACT and from the sounds of it he's going to wrestle at September's No Surrender PPV but that seems to be a matter of debate. It may violate the terms of his NFL deal but then again so has the number of arrests he's had and that hasn't stopped him.

Pac-Man Jones signs deal with TNA Wrestling

Pac-man has been in more trouble than your typical individual.

I don't know what TNA was thinking, actually I do. Anything for publicity. Its sad but true, I guess we know how low they'll go to get on Sportscenter.
