While WBA “super” and WBC super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler gets set to unify the 168 alphabet belts with the bench mark of the division, WBO/IBF
and Ring Magazine champ Joe Calzaghe on Saturday night, WBA “regular” title holder Anthony Mundine (29-3, 22 KO's) announced yesterday he would defend
against limited Argentine Jose Clavero (27-5-1, 13 KO's) at the Sydney Entertainment Center on December 10.

Mundine, 32, is hoping to fight the Calzaghe-Kessler winner in 2008. He is currently battling to regain sight in his left eye following an infection which
occurred when he cleaned a contact lens with his mouth. There is also talk of a rematch with Danny Green in Perth next year. Green faces WBA champion
Stipe Drews for the light heavyweight title in Perth on December 16.

New 'BA number 15, Clavero, also 32, who won the WBC Mundo Hispanic title in 2002, has inside the distance defeats to Sam Soliman and Paul Briggs on
previous trips down under. He was especially disappointing against Briggs in Brisbane last year which was officially put down as a disqualification loss.
He last fought in February, a draw over ten with fellow Argentine Ruben Acosta, felled by Mundine in four rounds last November.
