Nick Diaz signs long-term contract with EliteXC

Diaz made his debut for the promotion at EXC Uprising back on 09/15 after serving a long suspension for failing a drug test for Marijuana at Pride 33 in February. The test failure resulted in his victory over Pride Lightweight Champion Takanori Gomi being changed to a no contest.

Diaz' September debut was a split decision victory over hard-hitting Hawaiian Mike Aina.

Retaining the services of Diaz has to be seen as a positive sign for the Showtime affiliated promotion.
