ALEX SHELLEY, GREG VALENTINE, BUFF BAGWELL, MAD MAN PONDO AND MANY MORE: THIS WEEKEND IN THE MICHIGAN INDEPENDENT SCENE

Another very busy weekend in the Michigan independent scene with MMWA running their second event in 10 days, POG running their last (for the forseeable future at least) Saturday show, MPW in Wyandotte with a main event that has match of the year implications, XICW and IBW running head-to-head (again) and more. Here is a preview of the action.

Saturday:

*The Mid-Michigan Wrestling Association presents "Firebird Theatrics" from the Firebird Theater in Sandusky. Belltime is 1pm and tickets will be available at the door, priced at $10 for adults and $8 for kids. MMWA Heavyweight Champion Sebastian Rose will defend against Kid Statik, who earned the title shot after winning a Royal Rumble a few weeks ago; Sky Devian defends his MMWA Cruiserweight Title against Nick Xero; Xavier Justice takes on Kincaid in a Slave Match; plus MMWA Tag Team Champions The Suicycos, Alcatraz, Bull Wheeler and more.

*Price of Glory Wrestling presents "Murky Melee" at Michigan Sports Camps, 315 N. Fiske Rd. in Coldwater. Belltime is 6pm with doors opening at 5pm. Tickets are priced at $10, $6 for kids 12 & under and will be available at the door. Headlining the show will be a match between Ian Rotten, making his debut for the promotion, and the returning Jack Thriller; A new POG Chaotic Champion will be crowned as Osyris takes on Jimmy Shalwin in a Last Man Standing Match; Harker Dirge takes on Jamie Eternal; plus POG Tag Team Champions Ringside Revue, Jeff King, 2007 Glory Cup Champion Christen Able and more.

*Metro Pro Wrestling presents "War in Wyandotte" at The ARC Hall in Wyandotte. Belltime is 7:30pm and tickets will be available at the door for $12, with kids 12 & under $5. In what should (and I stress should) be a classic, Johnny Dynamo defends his PWL Television Title against TNA star Alex Shelley and N8 Mattson in a three-way; Gutter defends the MPW Metropolitan Title against Conrad Kennedy III; Midwest Heavyweight Champion CJ Otis takes on Jaimy Coxx; plus MPW Cruiserweight Champion The Gameboy, Brad Martin, Eddie Venom and more. The Rude Boy, Calavera Cortez and Ricco Rodriguez will also be inducted into the Michigan Independent Hall of Fame.

Sunday:

*International Bigtime Wrestling presents "Halloween Headlocks '07" from the River Rouge Ice Arena in River Rouge. Belltime is set for 4pm and tickets will be available at the door and priced at $10 for ringside and $5 for general admission. IBW Heavyweight Champion Alcatraz defends against the returning Mad Man Pondo; The International Freedom Fighters take on The Scufflin' Hillbillies in a Fans Bring The Weapons Match; Conrad Kennedy III takes on former TNA star A-1; IBW Tag Team Champions The C.I.A. defend against The Suicycos in a Falls Count Anywhere Match; plus former WWE/PG-13 member Jamie Dundee, Doink the Clown, Jaime D (Sirelda in TNA), Nacho Libre and more.

*X-treme Intense Championship Wrestling returns to The Ritz in Warren for their 7-Year Anniversary show. Belltime is set for 5pm and tickets will be available at the door for $15. An 'XICWE Survivor Series' match between Team Mike McMahon (101 Proof, Mike McMahon and 2 more TBA) and Team A.T. Huck (The Orient Express, Greg Valentine, Roughhouse R.O.B. & A.T. Huck); XICW X-treme Intense Champion The DBA takes on Ian Rotten with a stipulation TBD by the fans; Midwest Heavyweight Champion CJ Otis defends against Buff Bagwell; plus Mickey Knuckles, Jeff King, XICW Tag Team Champions Keith Creme & Gavin Starr and more.
