MONDAY NIGHT RAW AIRED 9/3/07 Recap by Erik Anderson

WHAT HAPPENED?

The show starts with a recap of What Randy Orton did to John Cena’s dad last week.

Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga:

This match is for the intercontinental championship. Series of punches from Hardy to the stomach of Umaga. Closeline to the canvas as Umaga takes control.
Choke on the second rope and an elbow to bring Hardy down. Whip to the turnbuckle but a missed butt drop for Umaga. Hardy jumps to the outside apron
and gets side kicked to the floor. Commercial. Umaga has Hardy in a rest hold. Hardy fights back but gets Samoan dropped. Umaga is in control. Missed
dive from the top. Hardy comes back with kicks, punches, close lines and a baseball slide kick. Hardy missed the twist of fate but hit’s the whisper
in the wind. Two count. Hardy is caught from the top rope by Umaga and gets a black hole slam for an amazing two count. Umaga goes to the top but Hardy
hits him down for the quick cover for the three count. Good match but terrible way to change the title. Why not have Hardy pin Umaga clean without some
sort of confusion.

Vince Mcmahon in backstage with his legal defense team. He tells coach that he is confident about tonight. Carlito comes in sporting a new haircut. Vince
sets up a handicap match with Carlito teaming with Umaga to face Triple H. Ouch, This means Umaga is going to lose twice on the same show. Oh well, Umaga
shouldn’t have shot the roids in the first place.

Santino is with Maria backstage giving her confidence in her match tonight. Ends the conversation with a kiss

Melina talks to William Regal for a bit. Stephanie Mcmahon comes in and fakes a slap. Linda comes in and gets the slap on Melina for what she did with
Vince. Ron Simmons get the damn at the end for good measure

Santino comes out with Maria. He yaps about nothing until Sandman comes out from the crowd to the ring. He says that Sandman is out because he is Jealous
of Santino. Sandman hits Santino five times with the kendo stick. This was about to get good and the crowd was completely behind Sandman until the skit
became completely watered down by Sandman’s premature kendo Shots as they both fled to the back.

Maria vs. Beth Phoenix:

Phoenix dominates with throws. Hooked leg suplex and the match is over. Phoenix gets on the mic and says that she is getting a title shot. She takes out
Maria with another hooked leg suplex right before Candice Michelle ran in for the save.

Regal is out to talk with Randy Orton via video camera. Orton explains that Cena did all of this himself and could have prevented it. Orton says he wants
a rematch with Cena. Regal grants him this rematch. In the middle of Regal’s next statement, Cena comes out to the top of the ramp with no music. He
stares at Regal and the crowd. Cena walks to the ring and stares at Regal and his title belt. He attacks regal with vicious looking blows and throws
him into the announce table. Cena puts on the stfu and wont let go until four or five refs came out. This was a bold move by the wwe judging on how many
Boo’s Cena gets anyway, this was sure to add to that. Beyond that, it worked very well and I enjoyed it.

Cade and Murdock are out to the announce table.

The Worlds Greatest Tag Team vs. Paul London and Brain Kendrick:

This match is a number 1 contender match and is the direct effect of the recent firings of Cryme Tyme. This is how they will try to make fans forget about
them. London and Kendrick work Charlie Haas arm with a series of top rope flying chops. Haas comes back with a belly to bell suplex. Benjamin is tagged
and connects with a sky high knee drop. Haas is tagged and connects with a springboard dive from the outside apron. Headlock applied. London continues
to go for the tag but cant get it. Finally Kendrick is tagged in and cleans house with dropkicks and dives. Two count. Finally Kendrick gets a back flip
neck breaker move for the three count. Cade and Murdock come in and clap for them. Obviously this is a set up for them to completely demolish London
and Kendrick next week.

Regal is hurt out back. Shane walks by.

Umaga is with Carlito. Carlito begins to pump Umaga up for the match later tonight.

One of the members of the legal defense team told Vince that he thinks he should go for a settlement. Vince fires him on the spot with a very traditional
Mcmahon type of attitude. Vince says that he wants to get aggressive and demands blood. Ha Ha, the laughs keep coming….or..not.

Davari is out with Jillian Hall. They do a funny duo singing comedy bit which was good for what its worth. Davari w/ Jillian Hall vs. Cody Rhodes w/ Mickie
James:

Mickie James starts out strong against Jillian Hall. Her jaw is hurt so she tags in Davari. Rhodes is also in and gets some arm drags and hip tosses.
Davari comes back with punches and a close line. Scoop slam, elbow drop straight into a headlock. Rhodes comes back but gets put back down. Knee’s to
the back. Back and forth punches between the two. Leg hold by Rhodes into a bulldog. The women jump in and fly to the floor. Rhodes plants Davari with
the ddt for the pinfall. Cody Rhodes is beyond average. His life span in the WWE is going to be very short unless he figures out some way of standing
out.

Triple H vs. Carlito and Umaga:

Carlito starts out with punches. Triple H comes back with a hair toss. He plays around with Carlito for a bit and throws him out of the ring so he can
taunt Umaga. Umaga goes after Triple H as Carlito comes in from behind. They both beat down Triple H for the worst DQ of the year. They continue to beat
down Triple H by hitting both of their finishing moves. Carlito gets a chair and sets up Umaga for a butt slam on the chair over Triple H’s face. Triple
H moves out of the way and cleans house with the chair. Chair shots on Umaga with not much of a result. He then gets the sledge hammer and beats Umaga
with it. Umaga is bleeding. One more shot to the back of the head to destroy Umaga. This is how the WWE wrote off Umaga. He will be gone for awhile as
he is suspended for steroid use.

Vince Mcmahon is out to talk about how his family is only after his money. Linda comes out and says she has plenty of money and could bust Vince for all
of the women he slept with. Stephanie comes out and explains that Vince needs help. She offers that he steps down as the chairman of the WWE. Shane comes
out. He then explains that Vince needs help. Vince said that he has only cheated on his wife once and begins to bow to his kids claiming that he will
try to be a better father. Kennedy comes out to a nice crowd pop and tells Vince that everything happens for a reason. He talked about the last few weeks
and said that he knows he is Vince McMahon’s son. He then tried to turn Vince on his family. They hugged. A dna type of guy comes out and says that
the test results say that Ken Kennedy is not the son. He goes on to say that the real son will be revealed next week on raw. The clue is the phrase “things
are looking up.”
