Hello fellow Combat-Hooligans. I am tired of what the WWE thinks we want. Skits. I will admitthat some of them are funny, but yet some are just plain stupid. Now as for the wrestling it stinks right now. There is NO true wrestler on the roster today, except Ric Flair. Today's workers are more like cartoon characters. These guys are paid a lot of money and could care less about the fans. If the money is right then they (the wrestlers) will say they have that passion. But many who have been called up or got stuck at the developmental program and been released lost there passion for something, that when growing up, they always wanted to be which was a great wrestler.

I am going to review Clash of the Champions 10. Its from Feb. 2, 1990. That's 17 years ago. In that time wrestling has changed a lot; I miss the good ole days of wrestling was the story and when fueds were much more heated. Back when the heels were getting so much heat that they fed off of it and when the faces were the pretty boys, whom the women fell for. These wrestling fans of today don't know what REAL wrestling is or they will never see what great wrestling could be. So lets go back in time, when I was just 16 years old, having just started high school.

WCW Clash of Champions 10 'Texas Shootout'

Your play by play announcers are Jim Ross and Jim Cornette two of the best people in the world.

Terry Funk opens the show to hype the crowd.
Gordon Solie is in the back doing interviews. Gordon Solie is the best announcer of all time. He first interviews The Road Warriors (Hawk and Animal). They talk about taking on the Skyscrapers (Sid Vicious and Dan Spivy). You could apparently talk to the winner with a special hot line.

First match is Samoan Savage with the Big Kahuna vs Dr. Death Steve Williams. This show, if anyone can remember, had great video intros. Gary Michael Capetta is your ring announcer.Dr.Death started early and this is a stiff match. The hits look real and not fake like it is today. Nice back and forth action. The crowd is eating this stuff up. Hmmm, what's this? Woman has come out and was given a chair by Doug Dilinger who was the head of security for WCW. Dr.Death is feeding off the crowd, trying to make a comeback, but the Samoan Savage stopped it. Guess what folks the show hasn't yet gone to a commercial. Dr. Death is fighting back with mule kicks. Dr.Death wins with a back slide.I gave this opener 4 stars.

Terry Funk and the Horsemen are next.

Ric Flair, Sting, Arn and Ole Anderson come to the ring. The most physical group ever to come to wrestling. This is one of the greatest promos to have ever been done. Ole is telling Sting that he is know longer a Horseman. Ole lays down the law. They want Sting to cancel his contract that he signed to face Ric Flair for the World Title. The crowd is upset over what is happening in the ring. To me the Ric Flair vs Sting matches were always great.

Just promoted there next pay per view Wrestle War 90 Wild Things

Up next is The Mod Squad vs Z man and Brian Pilman. Z Man and Pilman both were great looking kids, who ladies were all over. These jobbers put on a great match against these two superstars. In the end Z Man and Pilman won in a 3 3/4 star match. Wow I can't believe how much wrestling has changed over the years.

Cactus Jack Manson vs "The man with a thousand masks", Mil Mascaras. Two living legends of wrestling. Mil is a huge movie star in Mexico and a pioneer for some of the wrestling moves seen today. This match had a lot of great spots that weren't from the top rope. This match is a classic. Mick took a sick bump outside the ring. Mill beat Cactus with a flying cross body from the top rope.

Missy Hyatt promotes 'Sunday Nights Main Event'.

The Tuff Guys are playing there rock music. They were the official band of the NWA and WCW.Cactus hates there music and begins to fight the drummer who is Wolfe.

Solie is in the back with Norman the Lunatic. Solie explains that his match is a falls count any where match. Norman said he would pin Kevin Sullivan near the hot dog stand.

So its KevinSullivan vs Norman. In no time they go outside the ring. This is a brutal match and very stiff. The finish is Kevin Sullivan goes into the women's restroom a woman screams and runsout and then Norman follows him in. You hear banging in there and then you hear 1 2 3. Your winner: Norman. 4 stars.

Its time for Funks Grill with Lex Luger. I look at Luger and see what could had been. Its sad that he threw it all away all because of drugs. Luger tells Sting to go for the match. He use to cut such great promos. I guess he can't anymore.

Now its the Skyscrapers Mark Callis and Sid Vicious vs The Road Warriors. These are 4 very big guys in the ring. Once again a very stiff match. To me this is when Sid and Mark were at their prime. The match begins and its a brawl. The Skyscrapers did something that no tag team had ever done which is Lay the Warriors out. Winners by Dq: The Road Warriors. I gave this match 3 1/2 stars.

Next is a Mask vs Belts match. The Steiner Brothers vs Doom.
Doom was a very powerful team in the late 80's early 90's. This match told a story. They go back and forth. Doom hitssome stiff moves on the Steiners. The finish saw Rick pulling off the mask of Butch Reed. His partner was none other than Ron Simmons, "DAMN!". 4 1/2 stars.

Now its time for the Main Event. Ric Flair, Ole and Arn Anderson (the Four Horsemen) vs Buzz Sawyer, Dragon Master and The Great Muta in a steel cage.
What was funny about this match is that the Horsemen were the faces at the beginning of the show. But Since they turned on Sting the other guys were now the faces. You can see the reaction of Muta and others feeding off of the crowd. They so wanted these guys to hurt the Horsemen, but it didn't happen. Sting came out and legit hurt his leg when he tried to get into the cage. Flair then came out and attacked him.Other wrestlers were trying to seperate Flair and Sting. The crowd goes nuts and they go off the air. What a great match. I gave it 4 stars.

In all this is what wrestling is suppose to be, but will never be again. If you can find old wrestling tapes or dvds I highly recommend that you watch this.I promiss that if you do you will be a old school fan from then on. Thanks for reading and be HARDCORE
