Shamrock/Razorclaws released from IFL

MMAWeekly.com reports that the IFL released Razorclaws coach Frank Shamrock as well as his team as the company attempts to revamp its current business model.

"They said they were going a different direction with their business,” stated the current Strikeforce and former Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight titleholder. “They're good people and they're a good company. They've got a hard road ahead of them. I'm still willing to help in any way because they treated me real good."

The only member of the Razorclaws not cut was Brian Foster who's fighting in IFL's upcoming Grand Prix and will be assigned to a new team.

IFL commissioner Kurt Otto recently stated that instead of expanding to 16 teams in 2008 the company would remain at 12 teams on the roster with the addition of Mario Sperry and Ian Freeman hired as coaches to build up new teams replacing two or three currrent ones.

Meanwhile, Shamrock plans to fight Renzo Gracie in April, have another fight in September and also his wife will be having a baby in May so his 2008 season seems to be busy already.
