Cena to miss between 6 and 8 months of action

WWE Champion John Cena was diagnosed with a complete tear of his right pectoral muscle by Dr. James Andrews in Burmingham earlier today. Surgery is required to fix the injury which will put Cena on the shelf between 6 and 8 months. That means he is more than likely going to miss Wrestlemania 24 in March.

Cena will be stripped of the WWE Championship and a new champion will be crowned at Sunday's No Mercy PPV event in Chicago.

Losing their top draw for a half a year is very bad news for the WWE to put it mildly.

Cena was scheduled for a Last Man Standing match against Randy Orton on the Pay Per View but was injured while doing a hiptoss in the main event of Raw against the returning Ken Kennedy.
